After a six-month renovation closure, the Singapore Discovery Centre officially reopens on 31 Oct 2020 with a new look and new experiences! With new and revamped attractions at the centre, we take a look at what families can look forward to when visiting the Singapore Discovery Centre!
Through The Lens Of Time
Fees

The permanent exhibit gallery brings visitors on a journey through the lens of time! Starting from the founding of Singapura by Sang Nila Utama, the gallery brings you on journey through the key moments of history such as the World War II, Konfrontasi and the 1983 Cable Car Tragedy.
Through the use of Augmented Reality (AR), the gallery brings these stories to life and let's visitors discover new stories and perspectives of Singapore. There will be games and videos to make the stories relevant and exciting for visitors.
The visual, sound and set-up will allow the us to better understand and appreciate these key moments of Singapore's history and serves as a learning point for both parents and children too.
*Note that only part of the exhibition is currently open and full opening will be announced at a later date.
Black Lake Facility - Largest Multi-Storey Escape Room

Enter the Black Lake Facility and find your way out! Covering 13 rooms across 4 themed chapters, are you smart enough, tenacious enough, resourceful enough to unravel the mysteries?
Your family plays the role of special agents, entering the Black Lake Facility, a multi-disciplinary complex that has been experimenting on an ancient relic and used it to transport 5 soldiers to another dimension. Find out what happened to these soldiers and the discoveries that they made!
Using smart technology such as motion sensors, touch sensors and UV lighting in its puzzle pieces, the attraction aims to give families an out-of-the-world escape room experience!
*Suitable for 13 yrs and up, but younger kids may take part with an accompanied adult. Some parts of the Escape Room might be too scary for the young ones.
Black Lake Laser Battlefield

The Black Lake Laser Battlefield offers a laser tag experience with cutting-edge revolutionary projections. You can experience different combat simulations with different environment. The interactive projection mapping also enhances the game play as it allows players to interact with the "items" projected.
You can choose to play as teams or solo, with 7 different game plays to choose from. Each game is for 10 mins.
*The laser gun and suit is relatively light and will be suitable for children above 7yrs old.
iWERKS Theatre - 2D or 3D Movies

Even before the renovations, iWERKS Theatre was a popular haunt for families to catch the latest movies! From 31 Oct, iWEKS theatre will kick off with Pinocchio and Trolls World Tour!

XD Theatre

Go on a thrilling 4D simulation ride! With motion, special effects, sound and the 3D effects, the XD Theatre will keep you on the edge of your seat! There are currently 2 different films, SKY HUNT and PINOCCHIO.
Each show is 5 mins.
*Suitable for kids above 1.2m. PINOCCHIO is the more recommended for children as there is less vibrations and movements.
Wild Thyme Cafe - A Hangout Cafe
It is not just about having a meal, Wild Thyme Cafe has collaborated with Minds Cafe so that families can enjoy board games while eating too! You can enjoy the Western and Asian delights or opt for the Games Package @ $15 (valid from 2 pm - 8.30 pm daily) for 2 hours of board games with free-flow snacks and drinks!
Other Attractions
Apart from the above, families can also enjoy Singapore's only multi-tiered paintball arena (min. 14 yrs old), head into the scenic lake on a pedal boat (min. height 1.2m) or go on a SAFTI bus tour (weekends only).
As part of Singapore Discovery Centre's sustainability efforts, they have installed a total of 2,325 solar panels across the centre, including 672 solar panels in the lake! You can walk down the floating platform to view these panels up-close and understand the works of the solar panel!
