Heartlands Festival 2022 | Free Things To Do In The Heartlands For The Whole Family This Festive Season!

As another hectic year comes to a close, what better way to revel in the festivities than spending well-deserved quality time with loved ones at Heartlands Festival 2022?

This year, the Heartlands Festival has lined up a series of fun and free-for-all family activities that will be taking place in the heartlands. Here are the 5 free and exciting Must-Dos that you and your family can explore this festive season:

1. Enjoy A Mouth-Watering Escapade Through Singapore

Calling all foodies out there with a penchant for local flavours! Put your hawker knowledge to the test, show us if you are a kopi master and flex your popiah making skills with friends and family. 

If you are a foodie with a hunger for a challenge, gather your top foodie friends and family, form a team of 4, and sign up for Eddy’s Hawker Game Show! This family-friendly hawker relay race requires at least one member to be above 50 years old. Be the first team to finish all the hawker-related challenges and get to go home with S$30 NETS Prepaid Card, Heartlands Festival merchandise, and other attractive prizes!

To participate, simply sign up here and follow @heyheartlands for updates. Shortlisted participants will be contacted closer to the date.

[Game Rules]

• Every team must have 4 members. Team members need not be from the same family. Teams who have at least one member above 50 years old will also get additional points.
• There will be a maximum of 5 teams allowed per Hawker Game Show.
• If an individual drops out, teams are required to find a replacement and inform the organizer with the relevant details at hello@heartlandsfestival.com. If the team is unable to find a replacement, their spot will be forfeited.
• A facilitator will be tagged to each station, who will explain the rules of the challenge to teams.
• Facilitators have to verify that their teams have completed each checkpoint before teams are allowed to move on to the next challenge.
• The team who finishes the relay challenge first wins!

Want a new and exciting way to experience the old and new within the heartlands? Sign up for Paddy’s Amazing Heartlands Race!

In teams of 4, race around the heartlands and compete in a series of unique localised challenges - making kopi, tailoring clothes and more - whilst discovering the hidden gems our heartlands have to offer! This is a family-friendly race and teams who have at least one member above 50 years old will get additional points. The team that completes the route the fastest & scores the most points will walk away with a $38 NETS Prepaid Card and other attractive prizes!

[Game Rules]

• Every team must have 4 members. Team members need not be from the same family. Teams who have at least one member above 50 years old will also get additional points.
• There will be a maximum of 5 teams allowed per Amazing Heartland Race.
• Every team must nominate a team leader.
• If an individual drops out, the team leader is required to find a replacement and inform the organizer with the relevant details at hello@heartlandsfestival.com. If the team is unable to find a replacement, their spot will be forfeited.
• Each team will receive an allowance of $100 on selected e-payment apps for the race. At the end of the session, teams will be required to return the balance via PayNow to the organiser. Receipts or screenshots of e-payment have to be presented for verification.
• Teams have a time limit of 2 hours to complete the race, and only public transportation and/or green transportation are allowed.
• Every team will be accompanied by 1 gamemaster, who will present the clues & activities to the teams. Teams must follow the route and order of the stations as stated. No skipping of stations will be allowed.
• Points will be awarded based on how quickly teams complete the tasks at various stations and how quickly teams complete the entire race.
• All judges' scores are final.

1. Spend: Spend a minimum of $10 at any heartland shop or food stall! Every $10 spent gives you one lucky draw chance.

3. Submit: Upload your submission here!

Every submission automatically gives you a chance at the grand lucky draw!

We all have that playground we used to go to every day, or that elder family member who loves telling anyone and everyone their life story – even if we’ve heard it a million times. This is your chance to bring those tales to life and win S$120 worth of prizes while you’re at it.

From 20 January to 20 February 2023, show us your unique perspective of the heartlands by participating in #HeartLensSG.  Whether it’s an old photo from the past or a new adventure that reminds you of the stories from your childhood!
