Usher in the ‘Niu’ Year with your friends from the wild side at Singapore Zoo, River Safari and Jurong Bird Park! Aside from animal shows that will take place from 12 to 14 Feb and 20 to 21 Feb at the three parks, you can also learn more about animals like the Gaur, known for their massive build and curved horns, as they enjoy festive treats, get to know your zodiac predictions. You can also go on a trail to welcome the Singapore Zoo’s newest resident, the Ankole Cattle, known for their strength and agility. Upon completion, you will get to redeem an ice cream!

In this month’s Let’s Learn About…series, Asian Civilisations Museum is turning the spotlight on the Lunar New Year. You will get to learn about some of the Lunar New Year traditions as well as about the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac and how their order was decided with a special focus of the ox and other cattle in celebration of the Year of the Ox. They also have sliding puzzles and craft activity that you can try your hands on.

Introduce your kids to the basics of sewing with Bernina’s series of sewing workshops. You can start your sewing journey by first choosing a project – a 2-way Tote Bag, Boxy Pencil Case or a Tic Tac Toe Game Set. Then you will learn different skills based on your chosen project, such as covering the raw seam with the bias tape method, sewing on a zipper professionally and customising using decorative stitches, among others.

Do note that the session, conducted in Mandarin with English and Mandarin subtitles, will premiere on 19 Feb 2021, Friday, at 5 pm and the instructional video will continue to be available until 14 Mar 2021. Delivery of the craft materials will take place from 15 Feb 2021.
