While you’re there, make the best of your trip and hike up to the Tree Top Walk where a magnificent sight will greet you. It’s quite like feeling of standing at the top of the world. 43. Splish Splash at Gardens by the Bay Children’s Garden
Pass through the Adventure Trail set amidst lush green foliage with obstacles such as shaky bridges, balancing beams, monkey bars and slides, and you will come across the Water Play Area.
With its many water showers, orchid-shaped splash buckets and Fish Fountain, you can expect your tiny tots to splish and splash in the Water Play Area for a long time.
If you’re feeling up for a little bit of a challenge after a refreshing dance in the water, you can check out The Treehouses where slides, funnel nets and rope structures shaped like birdcages are built around the trees.

45. Have a BBQ Party at West Coast Park
While your little ones run off to build sandcastles, you can barbeque your meat, mushrooms, vegetables and other nosh in preparation for your barbeque party. Sitting on a bench, feasting on grilled food by the seaside with your family, watching the sun set while enjoying the sea breeze is quite an experience.
That’s not all there is to do at this sprawling park though. You can go cycling, skating, and if you’re fine with losing a few hours, swing by the Adventure Playground featuring climbing structures, obstacle courses, slides, swings, sand and more.

48. Pay the Impressive Building of Masjid Sultan A Visit
Standing splendidly at Kampong Glam is Masjid Sultan, also known as the Sultan Mosque. An interesting fact about this impressive building that has stood for more than a century is that the base of both the huge golden domes are actually embellished with glass bottle ends contributed by Muslims with lower-income. It is so because Sultan Hussein Shah, who built the mosque, wanted every Muslims to be able to pitch in to the building of the mosque.

49. Take a Walk Down Esplanade Park
For those days when you don’t really want to run around the playground, chasing after your little tykes as the sun beats down on you, I suggest a stroll through Esplanade Park. The park is wonderfully undisturbed, providing a reprieve from the usual hustle and bustle in the city.
Located within the park is a children’s playground that gives off old-school feels and a wall of bells (about which I’ve long been curious about, why bells?) that you can play tunes with.
Walk a little further in and you’ll come across historical monuments such as the elaborate Tan Kim Seng Fountain, the Cenotaph, a war memorial honouring soldiers who lost their lives in both wars, and the Lim Bo Seng Memorial.

50. Dine Out at Lau Pa Sat
The distinctive clock tower, Victorian columns, elegant arches and fretted eaves of Lau Pa Sat exudes vibes of a time gone by but Lau Pa Sat is no ordinary historical building. It is a market turned hawker centre.
Packed to the brim with stalls offering drool-worthy fares from chicken rice, fishball noodles and hokkien mee, to roti prata, kaya toast and satay. Aside from local cuisines, you can also find an array of international cuisines such as Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese, to satiate your cravings.

51. Behold Our Nation’s Evolution Through the Years at Singapore City Gallery
Just a little red dot and yet here we are all with a roof over our heads and our daily needs satisfied. We’ve indeed come a long way from a fishing village. You can witness how far we’ve come, the challenges along the way and more at Singapore City Gallery through multimedia shows, interactive exhibits and artworks.
One of the highlights among the exhibits is the Central Area Model, an enormous model that provides a bird’s eye view of Singapore’s Central Area. You can easily spend a long time here pointing out the various places you’re familiar with.
