A Guide to Chinese New Year 2020 Celebrations in Shopping Malls in Singapore

Our little red dot is buzzing with festive celebrations this season! With something happening at almost every place of interest, from popular attractions to shopping malls, you’ve got a buffet of options where you can kick-off and continue your Chinese New Year celebrations with your family!  

To help you out a little, here’s a guide to what’s brewing over at the shopping malls in Singapore this Chinese New Year!

NORTH

1. Anchorpoint

For this Chinese New Year, Anchorpoint Mall has a series of festive promotions that you can enjoy when you shop at the mall. When you spend $68 in a maximum of 3 same-day, same-mall transactions via the Frasers Experience (FRx) App, you will be able to redeem two sets of red packets. And when you spend a minimum of $108, you can participate in the Prosperity Spin and win retailer vouchers for more shopping!

You can also take part in the Mediacorp Prosperity Treasure Quest at Anchorpoint. You have to spot the hidden ingots with QR codes at various locations and you’ll stand a chance to win attractive prizes. You can take part in the quest at Bedok Point, Causeway Point, Changi City Point, Waterway Point, and YewTee Point as well.

Additionally, the God of Fortune will be making an appearance in the mall from 31 Jan to 2 Feb 2020 at 1 pm. If you swing by the mall on 30 Jan 2020 at 10 am, you’ll be able to catch a high energy Lion Dance Performance!

At Northpoint City this Chinese New Year, little ones can get to make their very own festive treats! Not only do these no-bake workshops bring a yummy treat, it also helps to develop your little one’s fine motor skills! To register your kids, all you have to do is spend a minimum of $50 in the mall in a maximum of 3 same-day receipts.

If that’s not enough goodies, you can also check out the mall’s Chinese New Year Atrium Fair. Also, not only will you be able to catch the God of Fortune spreading prosperity every weekend and meet Mediacorp’s mascots, Yu Shu Shu and Le Shu Shu, you will also be able to catch Lion Dance on High Poles as well as LED War Drums & Dragon Dance Performance!

Our Tampines Hub has a line-up family-friendly activities this festive season, including a CNY Bazaar, where you can shop at nearly 30 stalls for an array of goodies, from delicacies to decorative items. In addition to the CNY Concert ‘Spring Melodies’ hosted by radio DJs Jeff Goh and Leelian Chua, you can also enjoy a variety of cultural stage performances over the weekends. In addition to these Instagram-worthy displays with their spring blooms like the Peach Blossom and Red Pussy Willow, there will also be Lion Dance Performances, roving God of Fortune and hands-on craft activities for the little ones!
