Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) dedicates this Children’s Season to reflect on the values that have helped us through the pandemic and ways we stay connected with our loved ones. To make their programmes more accessible, the museum is offering both online and self-guided activities at the museum. Here’s a look at the activities you can explore with your little ones!
1. Self-Guided Trail Booklet

Go on a journey with your family to discover some interesting objects in ACM’s collection through fun learning. Be sure to keep an eye out for a few special pieces that embody the spirit of togetherness. A child-friendly audio clip featuring one of the trail objects will also be made available on the ACM website.
If you’re at home, you can download and print your own trail booklet from the ACM website and if you’re on-site at the museum, you can pick up a trail booklet from the Visitor Services staff at the Front Desk.
2. Make Your Own Mini Scribe’s Table

Assemble your own mini cardboard scribe’s table based on the exquisite Turkish one from the museum’s collection. You can also pick up a free craft kit from the Front Desk to assemble at home (while stocks last).
3. Storytime with ACM
Date: 21 Nov – 11 Dec 2020 (Fri – Sat)
Hour: 10 am
Fee: Free
From 21 Nov to 11 Dec 2020, you can tune in to ACM’s Facebook or YouTube page to catch the live stream of interactive storytelling sessions with craft activities. It’s fine if you missed a session, you can still find it on ACM’s YouTube or Facebook page!

4. Miniature Peranakan Kueh Clay-Making Workshop
Date: 12 Dec 2020 (register by: 5 Dec 2020)
Hour: 10.00 am – 10.45 am
Fee: $15/kit
Bond with your little ones over colourful mini kueh in this Miniature Peranakan Kueh Clay-Making Workshop! You will create two types of kueh during the session. This workshop was inspired by the collection of objects at the Peranakan Museum, ACM’s sister institution.
The workshop will be conducted over Zoom and an email link will be sent to all participants in advance. Be sure to register by 11 am on 5 Dec 2020 to join in the workshop!
