    Our Experience

Thank you Defence Collective Singapore and Singapore Navy Museum for giving us the opportunity to experience Camp 1N! Here's a review of our one-night camp-cation at the newly-opened Singapore Navy Museum:

Making of Crew Crests & Eco-Marine Challenge

What we loved about these activities is that they were not only fun and meaningful, but they also offered great opportunities for us to unleash our creativity and work as a family.

    Night Expedition Trail

Each team will be given a series of tasks to complete on this Night Expedition Trail around the Museum.

We have to admit though, some of the tasks were rather tricky and difficult to solve. Nonetheless, the camp facilitators were really friendly and were really awesome morale boosters! Their encouragement really helped us to push through (especially when we were already so tired from the earlier activities😅😅) and we did eventually manage to complete all of our tasks.

The first team to complete all tasks correctly will get to win a prize!

A Relaxing Morning Workout With A View!

We got to admit that while it certainly wasn't easy having to get up early for the morning workout, the amazing sea view that greeted us totally made it all worth it!

In this yoga session, we got to learn and practise some breathing techniques and some basic poses, which were simple enough for the kids to follow through. We also had the chance to try out some partner yoga poses, which were fun and a great family bonding activity.

    Sleepover Experience

There will not be any tents and campers will be sleeping in a communal space in Singapore Navy Museum - out in the open among the exhibits. As campers will be sleeping on hard ground, we highly recommend placing yoga mats (which are available for use at the Recharge Station) underneath your sleeping bags for a more comfortable sleeping experience. We also recommend bringing your own pillows for a ‘snoozier’ experience.

In addition, inflatable pillows, as well as eye masks and ear plugs are also provided, and you can bring these back home after the camp.

To 'jazz up' your Slumber Quarters for that Insta-worthy shot, you may also make use of the portable chairs, tables and night lamps provided.

    Amenities

There is access to the shower facilities located within Singapore Navy Museum. However, do note that there are no water heaters. Do also bring your own towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel and shampoo.

    Food & Beverage

There will be meals (dinner and breakfast bento sets) provided by Bottle Tree Cafe Restaurant, which is Halal-certified.

Moreover, there's a Refuel Station (located on Level 1 of the Museum) that offers a decent variety of snacks and drinks, such as biscuits, Milo, coffee and even cup noodles!). These refreshments are readily accessible to campers throughout the programme, so parents, you need not worry about anyone going hungry during the camp and you can save the hassle of prepping and planning for meals.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, what we loved most about the camp was that we got to do almost everything together, as a family! While it's not quite like the usual staycation, it was a really enriching and memorable experience for us!

For families who are looking for a fun, yet unique adventure this school holiday, we would definitely recommend Camp 1N @Singapore Navy Museum!
