The annual Sakura festival returns to Gardens by the Bay this year with a famous icon, Hello Kitty, making an appearance amongst blooming cherry and peach blossoms.
The well-loved character appears in different settings around the floral display, including dressed in a kimono posing beside rickshaws, redesigned to match the character’s kawaii style at the Flower Field and a hanami picnic.
Transformed into a Japanese style landscape garden featuring torii gates and elegant Japanese red-crowned cranes (tancho), the Flower Dome paints a picturesque scene this season.
In addition to the floral display, you can also look forward to a line-up of cultural workshops and performances, though they have been scaled down this year to ensure safe distancing and better crowd control. Due to the limited capacity, you will have to pre-register for the programs online.
