Singapore’s exciting cosplay convention Cosfest by the Singapore Cosplay Club (SCC Square) is returning for its 20th edition: Cosfest Classic at Downtown East on 29 & 30 July 2023. This year, Cosfest Classic pays homage to all things nostalgic of the anime, cosplay, comics, games, and music genres that are as iconic as the pioneering event. Here's what you can expect at this year's Cosfest:

Stage Performances

This year, Cosfest Classic presents epic stage performances, such as:

Yui Ninomiya

An act who's not-to-be-missed: rising Japanese voice actress and singer Yui Ninomiya, who will be making an appearance on both days of the weekend convention. Yui made her voice acting debut singing as Ema Hinata (日向エマ) in the TV anime Aikatsu Friends!. The 21-year-old released her first album "Ai Toka Kanjou" (愛とか感 情) in 2020 under Lantis, one of the trendiest and most influential music production studios for anime and game music.

On 29 July 2023, the Kanagawa-born artiste will be bringing a live talk show to interact with the audience, followed by a meet & greet with fans. The popular singer will perform her top hits on 30 July 2023.

EDGE REBOOT

Cosfest Classic also welcomes a group of special guests: EDGE REBOOT, the winners of the Cosfest Special Award at the prestigious Osaka Comic Con 2023. They wowed the crowd in Japan for their portrayal of the characters from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. EDGE REBOOT is a team of Marvel Cinematics Universe cosplayers who have been active since 2014. 

On 29 July 2023, catch the talented group on stage in their award-winning outfits. Stay tuned for a surprise on 30 July 2023 as they each appear in their favourite, exquisitely-made costumes! Drop by to say hi on both days and score some wefies!

Eclectic Craft Stalls

Shop at the eclectic craft stalls at Cosfest Classic, showcasing creative art pieces by various international and local vendors.

Tip: Look for Yui Ninomiya’s very own booth specially curated for Cosfest Classic; crafty booths like KieirinArts and Gattai Makers offering anime-themed art prints and keychains; and cosplayer booths Momoko_pigsfly and Tinneh Cosplay with their very own cosplay prints, photobooks and banners.

Fringe Activities

That’s not all! Cosfest Classic will also feature fringe activities, such as cosplay runway shows, as well as song and dance performances by local talents. Cosplayers who are interested to go on stage to flaunt their costumes in a parade are welcome to register here by 16 July 2023.

Admission Details

Admission fee to Cosfest Classic is priced at $12.50 (for 1-day pass) and $22 (for 2-day pass). Tickets are now on sale at Peatix and Eventbrite.
