Trading Stories: Conversations with Six Pioneering Tradesmen

Trading Stories is a community exhibition that explores old trades in Singapore and the challenges tradesmen have had to overcome to adapt to changing times, and features six individuals – a traditional goldsmith, a movie poster painter, a tukang urut or Malay confinement lady, a Samsui woman, a poultry farmer and a letter writer – telling their personal stories of sacrifice and struggle, of passion and fortitude, and of entrepreneurial courage and adaptability.

Singapore Philatelic Museum: Virtual Tours of Past Exhibitions

The Singapore Philatelic Museum may be undergoing renovations now, but fret not! You can still enjoy the museum’s past exhibitions digitally, and learn how the world of philately is connected to Singapore’s history and culture. Highlights include Anime x Stamps, Collecting Magic: From Stamps to Wands, The Little Prince, and more!

An Old New World: Digital Edition

Sail back in time to the East Indies over 400 years ago as you take a virtual tour to an Old New World. The online exhibition offers two modes of navigation – guided and self-exploratory. The guided tour includes a curated exploration following the themes of Knowledge and Power and Seeing the Indigenous. Alternatively, you may also navigate the galleries at your own pace via the self-exploratory mode.

Heritage Stories

Travelling overseas may not be on the agenda for some time more, but you can take a virtual trip around the nooks and crannies of Singapore’s history and heritage!

@ Home, Truly

What is it like to grow up in Singapore? @ Home, Truly is a digital companion to the exhibition of the same name at the National Museum that features an online-exclusive story of a young girl and her grandfather, in which he regales her with tales of his life, and what Singapore was like when he was young. @ Home, Truly is told through illustrations by local artists and interspersed with archival and contemporary images, artefacts and audio-visual material.
