The eagerly awaited annual children's festival, March On 2024, is back at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, featuring an array of free and ticketed programmes designed for children aged 0 to 14 years.
Happening across the March school holidays, this is an annual arts festival for families that should not be missed! In its fourth edition, the festival presents specially commissioned immersive experiences by homegrown companies as well as international co-productions and presentations exploring the themes of home, adventure and coming of age.
In A Nutshell
March On 2024 explores different genres of art for families! Families can expect visually stunning dance, music, and theatre performances as well as LARP (Live action role playing), storytelling, roving performances and pop-up installations, there's definitely something for every child and every family.
On weekend evenings, families can also chill out at the Courtyard Green along the waterfront for picnic and enjoy free performances together too! A great way to create family fun while introducing little ones to the arts!

Jungle Book reimagined

Jungle Book reimagined (recommended for 8 years old and above) is a captivating dance-theatre production about a thrilling adventure in a future world ravaged by climate change. Come dive into a magical world with your family and celebrate the importance of belonging and respecting nature in this 2-hour performance!
HOME
Venue: Esplanade Annexe Studio
Dates: 7 - 10 Mar 2024
Admission: $30
Recommended for 3 to 7 years old, little ones will go on a journey of self-discovery in this captivating visual theatre experience about belonging and feeling at home. HOME uses a unique blend of puppetry, music, and storytelling to spark curiosity and invite children to explore the concept of home as being much more than a roof over our heads.
As part of the experience, families are also invited to join HOME (Parent-Child Workshop) happening on 11 and 12 March 2024. Based on the performance of HOME, awaken your child’s curiosities and creativity in this workshop that explores the concept of—and what it means to be—home. Little ones will be crafting their own unique houses to the accompaniment of live music and songs brought to life through expressive movements.
The workshop is priced at $20 per pax and is recommended for 4 to 6 years old.
The Plants
Venue: Esplanade Lawn, outside Singtel Waterfront Theatre
Dates: 7 - 17 Mar 2024

The Plants is an interactive installation featuring experimental musical instruments that combine live plants with digital sensors. Your skin controls the pitch of each plant instrument, allowing you to play a range of notes when you interact with them.
This is an interactive experience where everyone is invited to come and engage in collaborative music-making and interaction with nature. There will also be live performances every evening from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm where local musicians join in, integrating their instruments into The Plants' sonic landscape.
There will also be a hands-on Musical Plants (Parent–Child Workshop), priced at $20 per pax, on 14, 15 and 16 Mar 2024 where professional Musical Plants players will introduce children along with their parents to the Musical Plants and devise ways of playing them to create new musical compositions. Recommended for 5 to 12 years old, no prior musical experience is necessary to take part!
Aki's Playground
Venue: Esplanade Annexe Studio

Immerse yourself in a multi-sensory, interactive experience at Aki's Playground. Children (recommended for 3 to 8 years old) will be invited to explore three magical realms! They will traverse mystical forests, journey across cosmic galaxies, and unearth oceanic treasures in interactive light and sound displays, alongside carefully curated workshops.
Shining in Space
Venue: Esplanade Concert Hall

Shining in Space is a family musical adventure to space with an orchestra, storytelling and multimedia. Join Shining and her best friend, Star as they embark on a wondrous intergalactic musical adventure together!
Caliban's Island

Caliban’s Island is an interactive play where participants play characters and advance the story by making challenging choices and completing quests around Esplanade!
Bring your children (recommended for 7 years old and above) on a daring quest to reverse a curse that has transformed adults into strange animal hybrids. They will be exploring the grounds of Esplanade to complete quests in order to gather four extraordinary ingredients to brew a potion of transformation.
