The popular Book Bugs programme aims to encourage children to take ownership of their own reading and learning journey.
This December school holidays, parents and their children can enjoy an array of fun Book Bugs events by National Library Board (NLB).
Here's taking a closer look at what you and your little ones can look forward to:
Community Day
Venue: Jurong Regional Library
Date: 16 Dec 2022
Time: 2pm to 6pm
Fee: Free
A half-day event at regional libraries where fans of Book Bugs can participate in various Book Bugs booth activities during the end-of-year school holidays, as a round-up of the Book Bugs reading promotion.

StoryMap
Venue: Online
Date: now till 31 Dec 2022
Fee: Free
An interactive online map that allows children to digitally navigate through Bugtopia (fictional world where Book Bugs: Rescuers of Stories Lost is set in) and follow the progress of the narrative of Book Bugs: Rescuers of Stories Lost. The StoryMap consists of embedded multimedia such as text, images and videos which enhances the immersive worldbuilding experience.
This is a free online activity.
Rescuers’ Quest
Venue: across all Public Libraries (except library@orchard, library@chinatown and library@esplanade)

Rescuers’ Quest is a self-guided library trail that aims to further immerse patrons in the story behind Book Bugs Rescuers of Stories Lost.
The trail comprises three posters and similar to a D.I.Y trail, patrons will have to look out for these posters at the participating Public Libraries and scan the QR codes to view three short videos. These videos will reveal the story behind the mysterious Bug in Book Bugs Rescuers of Stories Lost – The End Bug!
Community Gallery

The Community Gallery is a virtual platform for patrons to share their passion and interest for Book Bugs via submitted writings/text, artworks, images and videos. Submissions will be displayed online and accessible to all for free on the virtual platform (Padlet) via this link.
Patrons can access the Community Gallery and upload Book Bugs-related illustrations they have personally created, photographs of themselves that they have personally taken, videos that they have personally recorded, and/or text that they have personally composed till February 2023.
Patrons below the age of 18 should seek their guardian’s permission before accessing the online platform.
