Enjoy an enchanting Chinese New Year experience at Gardens by the Bay with the delightful mascots Xiaohe (晓河) and Dragon 'Wei Long' (伟龙) from River Hongbao! Immerse yourself in the festive ambience featuring massive glowing lanterns, captivating stage performances and relish carnival games. You can also explore the vibrant food street and traditional lantern riddles & trade booths, as well as a special exhibition showcasing the history and development of Chinese New Year markets in Singapore.
River Hongbao Lanterns

Gardens by the Bay transforms into a magical garden brought to life by more than 20 enchanting lantern sets. Look out for the largest-ever lantern display featuring the magnificent, suspended dragon that will swirl around the Supertrees alongside the evergreen favourite, God of Fortune.
This year’s centerpiece – the “Prosperous Year of the Dragon” is 20 metres long and 18 metres tall. Don’t miss the dazzling firecrackers show happening here on selected evenings that comprises of firecrackers as long as 18 meters in length.

Catch a glimpse of the longest lantern set – “Bountiful Returns”. Its design, inspired by the Singapore River, is extra meaningful as the iconic location marks the early days of River Hongbao where it first started as a community event for all Singaporeans. The 20-metre long lantern set is sited at the Dragonfly Lake near the Bayfront MRT exit.
Stage Performances

Enjoy the nightly performances brought to you from the main stage. There’s an exciting line-up that awaits; from dance and musical performances by Chinese cultural groups.
The Singapore Talent Night brings together an array of traditional and modern performances by Mediacorp artistes and various local cultural groups. The line-up includes song and dance, traditional folk song duets, as well as percussion performances.
Amusement Rides

Take flight aboard majestic flying elephants and experience a sweeping panoramic view of the enchanting gardens from lofty heights. Bump around in dodgem cars or try your luck at high-percentage win rates carnival games. Ticket charges apply.
Food Street

The highly anticipated food stalls are back at this year’s River Hongbao. Pick your favourite snack as you explore what the food stalls have to offer.
Lantern Riddles & Trade Booths

Engage in the age-old tradition of solving lantern riddles, and discover a variety of innovative merchandise that comprises of interactional activities that elevate your New Year celebrations with your loved ones.
Exhibition
- The Meadow
Curated by the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, this exhibition showcases the historical development of Chinese New Year markets in Singapore since the 1950s. It features interactive elements and installations that enable visitors to immerse themselves in the lively and festive ambience of Chinese New Year markets in the past. Through the exhibition, visitors can understand the way of life, values, and traditions of the Chinese community in Singapore.
Virtual Activities
Adding to the festive celebration are virtual activities, including an online metaverse where you could get rewarded for collecting 8 “Dragon Pearls” scattered across the event space, a live Feng Shui show on Facebook, and online contests with prizes to be won.
