Ocean Fest 2023: One Shared Future
S.E.A. Aquarium’s Ocean Fest is back for its fourth edition in its bid to continue inspiring families to protect the world’s oceans. In line of World Oceans Day, learn how everyone can contribute to marine conservation at S.E.A. Aquarium’s Ocean Fest 2023: One Shared Future happening from 2 June to 13 August 2023. The event invites families to examine the interdependence between humans and oceans through the lens of marine life affected by human activity, as well as learn about the state of the oceans and responsible use of ocean resources. Here's taking a closer look at what you can expect at Ocean Fest 2023:
One-Of-A-Kind Art Installations:Â Bold Beauty
The impact of human behavior on oceans is also reimagined through thought-provoking art installations by local artists Victor Emmanuel and Stellah Lim in Bold Beauty. Victor Emmanuel’s ‘Cumulative’ is a progressive four-part series of sculptures which showcases the many ways that an organism is affected by single use plastics and microplastics, while ‘Mistaken Identity’ by Stellah Lim is a demonstration of how single-use plastics are recycled and manipulated to resemble marine animals.
Photo Exhibition: Eyes On Our Oceans
Step into a possible future of a dystopic ocean with the Eyes On Our Oceans photo exhibition in S.E.A. Aquarium. The rare and provocative photographs are curated from The Ocean Agency – an international non-profit organisation dedicated to marine conservation – touch on a variety of topics, such as ocean diversity, responsible fishing and marine debris.
Educational Booths: Waves Of Hope
Visit the educational booths to be inspired by the environmental efforts and solutions from Singapore’s youths and advocates. There’ll also be a pledge wall and fun volunteer programmes for you to show your support.
