da:ns focus offers an exciting year-round season of five themed weekends in 2024/25, each focusing on a particular theme or genre. The programmes, experiences and activities within each weekend will attract new audiences and deepen existing audiences’ appreciation for dance.

With programmes for families and more, here’s what you can expect from da:ns focus in the coming year!

  • EveryBody (19 – 21 Apr 2024): The annual EveryBody weekend presents high quality works and experiences focusing on inclusivity, diversity and participation, where everybody and every body is invited to experience dance. 
  • CAN – Connect Asia Now (4 – 6 Oct 2024): A spotlight on contemporary dance works by Asian artists, this annual gathering focuses on distinct voices and creative impulses from the region
  • Out of Site (6 – 8 Dec 2024): Lean into the evolving and open nature of contemporary dance.
  • Salero Flamenco (10 – 12 Jan 2025): Come embrace the passion, soul and fervour of flamenco dance performed by some of the best musicians and dancers worldwide. 
  • Ballet by the Bay (21 – 23 Feb 2025): Be inspired by world-class Ballet productions and be introduced to new perspectives on this celebrated art form.

2. Lenny Pearce Baby Rave Singapore Tour

5. The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show has been dazzling audiences around the globe for over seven years, faithfully bringing to the stage Eric Carle’s timeless classics. Bon AppĂ©tit Theatre brings you on an enchanting and eye-opening journey through a reimagining of beloved children’s classic Hansel and Gretel, told through an enchanting blend of storytelling with music and sound effects created live on stage. Family audiences with young children can expect a fun and unique experience that harnesses the power of language and sound to explore the emotional depths of the classic tale. Audience members also get to participate in creating sound effects during the show! 

Presented with young audiences in mind as an engaging and easy-to-follow Mandarin story, Candy House in the Mountain makes meaningful connections between the enduring themes of Hansel and Gretel and the current issues of today, creating a sense of shared understanding and empathy. 

7. The Way Back Home

One day a boy finds a plane in his cupboard. He flies his plane higher and higher until he runs out of petrol and lands on the moon. He is frightened, lost and alone until a passing Martian lands there too! Who is the strange alien? Can they be friends? And how will they find their Way Back Home?

9. The Lion Inside

The Lion Inside is a heart-warming tale about confidence, self-esteem, and a shy little mouse who sets out on a journey to find his roar. 

In a dry dusty place where the sand sparkled gold, stood a mighty flat rock, all craggy and old. And under that rock in a tinyful house, lived the littlest, quietest, meekest brown mouse.

Fed up of being ignored and forgotten by the other animals, Mouse wishes he could roar like Lion. But, as he discovers, even the biggest, bossiest people are scared sometimes ... And even the smallest creatures can have the heart of a lion!

10. Dinosaur Zoo

11. Marvel Studios' Infinity Saga Concert Experience

Step back in time into the colourful 90s – a time before smartphones and when the internet was just starting to connect the world! Threads: The Emperor’s New Clothes Musical brings a fresh, fashionable fun twist to the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale that’s perfect for kids and parents alike!

Meet Millie, a bright young fashion designer with big dreams. But there’s one problem—Arnold Wintor, the powerful editor of Emperor Magazine whose ego is as inflated as an overstuffed puffer jacket and his delusions are as grand as his magazine empire. Arnold’s used to getting his way, and after he discovers Millie’s unique fashion label, Threads, he has designs on a take-over. But Millie hatches a clever plan to show the world that even the most powerful can be brought down a peg (or two).

Join Mirabel as she sets out to protect her family’s cherished Casita, learn the importance of self-discovery with Moana and the mighty demigod Maui, and dive “Under the Sea” to witness Ariel’s heartwarming adventure. 14. Wicked The Musical

The Wizard is calling! Step into the Emerald City in 2025 as WICKED, the award-winning musical from Broadway returns to cast its magical spell at Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands once more. 

The Broadway sensation WICKED looks at what happened in the Land of Oz
 but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships

15. Temasek Foundation x SSO Concerts for Children: Peter, the Wolf and Friends

Peter, the Wolf and Friends is an anthology of three musical tales told through the animateurs and vaudeville-inspired storytellers of Really Inventive Stuff, accompanied by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Introduce your kids to classical music with the jingles and whistles of the Toy Symphony, Aesop’s timeless tale of The Tortoise and the Hare, as well as Really Inventive Stuff’s signature production of Peter and the Wolf. 

16. Phantom of the Opera

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s acclaimed musical The Phantom Of The Opera makes a thrilling stop in Singapore in May 2025. This haunting love story stars Jonathan Roxmouth as the Phantom, with Christine played by Grace Roberts. They are joined by a strong cast of 37 performers, including Americans, South Africans, Australians, and other international performers.

The Phantom Of The Opera premiered at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End on 9 October 1986, and made its Broadway debut at the Majestic Theatre on 26 January 1988. Since then, it has won over 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by more than 160 million people in 46 territories and 195 cities. It is widely considered one of the most spectacular productions of all time!

17. Young Children’s Concert: Lost Voice, Found Rhythm: A Journey of Self-Discovery with Ang Ku Kueh Girl

18. Bjorn Again - The World’s Number One ABBA Show

Björn Again, the world’s Number One ABBA show, is coming to Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands on 4 and 5 July 2025 for three dazzling, high-energy performances. 

This Super Trouper event will feature ABBA’s greatest hits, including Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! (A Man After Midnight) and SOS, along with iconic songs from the Mamma Mia movies. 19. SWAN LAKE - State Ballet of Georgia

For the first time in its 175-year history, the acclaimed State Ballet of Georgia will perform in Singapore in September 2025 with a classic production of Swan Lake.

Under the bold artistic direction of Nina Ananiashvili, former prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, the company has earned international praise for its “versatile and accomplished” dancers (The New York Times). Based in Tbilisi, Georgia, at the stunning Opera and Ballet State Theatre, the State Ballet of Georgia is renowned for its lavish productions, and this performance promises to be no exception.

With a company of 70, exquisite sets and breathtaking costumes, Swan Lake will be a visual and emotional treat.

20. The Candlelight Concerts

The Candlelight Concerts are a series of live, intimate concerts. Families can enjoy a host of concerts illuminated by candlelight and performed by live musicians in some of the most iconic venues in Singapore, including SEA Aquarium, CHIJMES and other dreamy locations.

21. Gateway Kids Club Storytelling 2024

Venue: Gateway Theatre Dance Studio
Dates: Every Sat at 10 am

Gateway Kids Club is a free programme held at Gateway Theatre every Saturday. You can also join the Arts and Crafts session or Free Play activities after the storytelling session! Each month features a different theme, around which activities are focused.
