Here's our weekly list of family fun to-dos to help you create lots of fun times with the kids! Check out Illumi, the world’s largest light, sound, and multimedia show at Bayfront Event Space. Head to the newly-opened Pirate Land and VR Zone at Eastpoint Mall for exciting play activities and immersive VR games for all ages. For a relaxing day surrounded by nature and history, visit the newly revamped Chinese & Japanese Gardens at Jurong Lake Gardens. 1. Visit illumi, The World’s Largest Light, Sound And Multimedia Event at Bayfront Event Space

Venue: Bayfront Event Space

illumi debuts in Singapore this September at Bayfront Event Space, featuring 20 million LED lights in its first show outside of Canada. Created by Normand Latourelle (co-founder of Cirque du Soleil), this event brings nine immersive worlds to life. Highlights include the 47-metre Tree of Lights, dazzling kaleidoscopic corridors, lifelike animatronics, and glowing creatures like giant snails and flying squirrels. Wander through icy wonderlands, desert fantasies, and prehistoric parks filled with dinosaurs.

Tickets start at $15 for kids and $25 for adults.

2. Sign Up for SAFRA Punggol’s Halloween Galaxy

Venue: SAFRA Punggol
Dates:

  • Fri, 11 Oct 2024, 6.30pm to 9.30pm
  • Sat, 12 Oct 2024, 5.30pm to 9.30pm

Admission: From $10 (Child); inclusive of a Galactic Goodie Bag | $5 (Adult)

Join SAFRA Punggol’s Halloween Galaxy, an out-of-this-world Halloween adventure with cosmic games, creepy trails, and thrilling quests! From "Shoot the Alien" with nerf guns to creating DIY planets and space magnets, there's something for every space explorer.

Dress up as an astronaut or alien and enter the Best Dressed Contest with prizes like LEGO sets, Toys"R"Us gift cards, and SAFRA vouchers. Enjoy a magic show, trivia games, and a chance to win in the lucky draw!

3. Explore Pirate Land & VR Zone at Eastpoint Mall

Venue: Eastpoint Mall, Level 4
Opening Hours: 10.30 am - 9 pm 
Admission:

  • Pirate Land: $15 (below 2 years old), $28.90 (2- 12 years old)
  • VR Zone: from $12 per game 

Popular play venues, Pirate Land and VR Zone opens their 2nd outlets (located just next to each other) at Eastpoint Mall, bringing their play options to the East. Pirate Land offers play activities for kids 0-12, while VR Zone caters to tweens, teens, and adults with exciting VR games.

Pirate Land features a Tornado Slide into a ball pit, interactive projections, climbing structures, and trampolines like the Slap Music trampoline. Enjoy pretend play in a little house with dolls, cooking setups, and a room filled with huge soft bricks for building. There's also an area for kids to explore various toys like vehicles and building blocks for unstructured fun.

Located outside of Pirate Land is the VR entertainment centre, VR Zone featuring different types of VR games suitable for a wide range of ages and interests. Race down tracks, shoot aliens, or play team-based games like protecting your city from zombies.

4. Celebrate Culture at the Lam Ann Festival 2024

Admission: Free

Happening now till 22 Sep 2024, the Singapore Hokkien Lam Ann Festival offers a unique opportunity to delve into the rich tapestry of Nan’an heritage. 

There are exciting workshops and activities tailored for everyone in the family, offering a variety of hands-on and tech-driven experiences as well as food stores for visitors to savour authentic Lam Ann dishes too.

5. Check Out the Revamped Chinese & Japanese Gardens at Jurong Lake Gardens

After five years, the Chinese and Japanese Gardens at Jurong Lake Gardens are back! These beloved spaces blend heritage with modern, eco-friendly designs, offering something for everyone.

The gardens retain classic charm with restored landmarks like the Twin Pagodas, now alongside new attractions like the Water Wall Court and an Edible Garden with herbs, fruits, and veggies.
