 Step into WonderLab’s Punggol-inspired Sensory Garden,  a multi-sensory digital garden that reimagines the sights and sounds of Punggol through a fusion of art, technology, and nature.

See Punggol Through Time

Look through the peepholes of a tree trunk installation and take a journey through time—witness Punggol’s transformation from a humble fishing village to a thriving smart and sustainable district.

This installation is inspired by Barringtonia racemosa, a tree native to Punggol, reflecting the town’s deep connection with nature throughout its history.

Hear the Sounds of Punggol

Step into an immersive sound installation where beautifully crafted birdcages overflowing with flowers symbolize nature’s presence in the city. As you explore, look out for the Asian Koel, White-breasted Waterhen, and Eurasian Tree Sparrow, depicted just outside the cages. Press a button and listen to their distinct calls—can you recognize them?

This installation blends the sounds of nature—birdsong and water flowing—with modern urban noises like the hum of the MRT and community chatter, giving you a unique glimpse into how Punggol’s natural and urban landscapes coexist.

Smell the Fragrance of Punggol’s Botanical Heritage

Take a deep breath and immerse yourself in the scents of Punggol’s botanical heritage. Once filled with small farms and kampongs, Punggol has long been home to fragrant plants used for cooking and healing—and many of them still thrive in its parks and gardens today. This installation showcases pandan, lemongrass, torch ginger, and curry leaf, aromatic plants that have shaped both Punggol’s past and present.

These are the featured Plants & Their Uses:

• Pandan: A traditional flavoring in rice dishes and desserts.
• Lemongrass: Used in teas and medicinal remedies.
• Torch Ginger: A key ingredient in rojak and laksa.
• Curry Leaf: Found in homegrown spice gardens of past and present.
