Finger painting, coloring with crayons, drawing with markers, scribbling with pencils, and splash painting, it could be anything. Give your kids some blank papers and pencils and watch them go at it. You can encourage their hobby by joining them for an art jamming session, visit a museum together (which you can do virtually), or enroll them for an online art class.

Start them off with the very basics and slowly work your way up. After all, being able to cook is a very helpful life skill to have in one’s pocket.

You don’t need a big backyard to start gardening. All you’ll need is some soil, a pot, and seeds of a plant you wish to grow. It’s a great start to teaching little ones about where fresh produce comes from and how we can be more eco-friendly. Gardening also teaches children responsibility and gives them a sense of accomplishment as they watch their plants grow.

Don’t limit yourself to growing flowers, vegetables, and green leaves though. Also, try your hand at putting together a terrarium, and if you don’t know how, don’t worry. Get terrarium DIY kits, they come with everything you’ll need including a guide on how to put them together. You can find them at a lot of places including within this list of DIY kits.

Learning a new musical instrument and mastering it allows kids an outlet to let some of their energy out, and while it’s not an overnight task, if your little Liszt has an affinity with their chosen instrument, they’ll love every hour of practice. Additionally, learning a new instrument also teaches young ones sequential thinking and self-discipline.

7. Singing

Do you often catch your little ones singing and maybe they even make up their own songs? If so, you can nurture their love for performing by signing them up for basic singing lessons. By starting at a young age, they’ll be able to develop better vocal health habits as well as their language and memory skills.

8. Scrapbooking

Older children can write down their memories while the young ones can make a scrapbook using pictures. And it could be about anything, from the cartoons they watch, their favorite sports and maybe the cars that fascinate them to the places they’ve visited with you. For the tiny tots, you can help them with the scrapbooking. Details like when they took their first step, the first tooth falling and the first day of school or daycare can later become precious memories you reminisce about.

9. Yoga

Although seemingly-impossible-to-execute-pretzel-like-poses are probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of yoga, yoga is a practice with many benefits for the mind and body. Among other things, it improves concentration, boosts immunity, and fosters good posture habits, all of which great reasons for little ones to practice yoga. If you feel like you’re not yet ready for a class, you can also start practicing yoga with the aid of free videos you can find on YouTube.
