The popular theme park will be reopened by Sim Leisure Group in the 1st Quarter of 2024.
Parents! The popular Kidzania Singapore will reopen in the 1st Quarter of 2024 by Sim Leisure Group (SLG). For the uninitiated, Kidzania is an indoor family attraction that allows children to role-play different jobs. It first opened in Singapore in April 2016 on Sentosa Island and was a popular attraction for families but closed in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
To be back on Sentosa
SLG will refurbish the 7,600 sqm Family Entertainment Centre located at Sentosa’s Palawan beach. This is the original location of Kidzania and families can expect a whole suite of new attractions and experiences when it reopens. It plans to refurbish the place with a projected expenditure of $3 million.
SLG will lease the venue for five years with an option to renew the lease for another five years.
Kidzania 5.0
The revamped KidZania will be Kidzania 5.0, the 5th iteration in Kidzania's evolution, will introduce a fresh perspective on the world of professions and focus on developing futures cities and citizens with a sustainability-centric lens.
The new play venue will include the latest design, theming and role-play activities, a new toddler-exclusive area and adult events lounge, among other new introductions.
We also learned that there will be a new over-night experience for the little ones to take part in too! There will be bunk beds for the kids to stay overnight - very excited to find out the details of this new experience!
Also aligned with new job opportunities of the future, some new offerings include YouTube Entrepreneur, Animation Studio and Makers Space. There will also be a range of KidZania activities across Sentosa Island to make it even more engaging for families and children.
Officially Handed Over
The venue was officially handed over by Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) to Sim Leisure Group. The group will embark on a significant refurbishment of the 7,600 sqm Family Entertainment Centre located at Sentosa’s Palawan Beach, introducing new and different Environmental Protection related occupations, to promote sustainability and ESG for a better world with a target opening date in Q1 2024.
Sim Leisure Group has also made the exciting announcement that they will be bringing in the next evolution of fully immersive cinematic adventure, Haven XR Cinemas, to Singapore. This exciting new form of entertainment transports visitors to another world where they become part of the movie. The first Haven Cinemas are expected in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur concurrently in Q1 2024.
To be Supported Locally and Internationally
Singaporean and worldwide brands will also join SLG in enhancing KidZania as "purpose partners" of KidZania Singapore. These include renown brands in the field of Banking, Airlines, Healthcare, Beauty, Hospitality, Quick-service Restaurant and Food & Beverage Operators.
The theme park is SLG's second KidZania under its wing. It currently operates KidZania Kuala Lumpur.
