Here are 12 new kid-friendly movies you can expect in 2021! 

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed many plans, including production plans and several movies that were slated to be released in 2020 were pushed back. Thankfully, it looks like we will be seeing some of them and a few other new ones this year.

Here’s a list of 12 new family-friendly movies that you can look forward in 2021.

Do note that the release dates are subject to changes.

1. Tom and Jerry

Release date: 11 Feb 2021

Tom and Jerry are back and this time they’re taking their cat-and-mouse chase game to another dimension – the real world! The iconic duo will be making a comeback in an animated/live-action movie. The battleground is a fancy hotel in New York where a desperate wedding planner hires Tom to get rid of Jerry, setting in motion a disastrous cat-and-mouse chase.

2. Raya and the Last Dragon

Release date: 4 Mar 2021

A computer-animated adventure-fantasy, Raya and the Last Dragon is set in the world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons once lived in harmony. When an evil force struck half a century ago, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now that the same evil force has returned, Raya, a warrior, sets off together with her trusty pet companion, TukTuk, to find the last dragon – a water dragon named Susi – to save the world.

3. Rumble

In a world where monster wrestling is a global sport and monsters are superstar athletes, teenage Winnie seeks to follow in her father’s footsteps as a manager by coaching a loveable underdog monster, Steve, into a champion so that he can go up against the reigning champion Tentacular.

4. Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway

The lovable rogue is back in Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway. Bea, Thomas, and the rabbits have created a makeshift family, but despite his best efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation. Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.

5. Minions: The Rise of Gru

In Minions: The Ride of Gru, Illumination will bring you back in time. It’s the 1970s and a 12-year-old Gru is growing up in the suburbs. A fanboy of a supervillain group known as the Vicious 6, Gru interviews to become their newest member when their leader is fired. It doesn’t go well.

Things only get worse after Gru steals a precious object from the Vicious 6 with the help of Kevin, Stuart, Bob, Otto, and the other Minions and suddenly finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil.

6. Paw Patrol: The Movie

In the works for four years now, Paw Patrol: The Movie is finally slated to be released in Aug 2021. The Movie will be bringing another round of exciting missions, high-stake rescues, as well as new pups and amazing vehicles as Ryder and the pups, are called to Adventure City to stop Mayor Humdinger from turning the bustling metropolis into a state of chaos.

7. The Boss Baby: Family Business

A top-secret agent for BabyCorp, Baby Tina is on a mission to uncover the secrets of a school that’s training little toddlers into becoming monstrous brats. The Addams Family will be back on the big screen this Halloween with The Addams Family 2, a sequel to their 2019 film. Details about the plot are not yet known.

9. Clifford The Big Red Dog

Plans to bring Clifford The Big Red Dog, a well-loved children’s picture book series, which was later turned into an animated series, alive on the big screen has been in the works for a while now and we might finally be able to witness it this year-end as the movie is set to be released on 2 Dec 2021.

11. A Boy Called Christmas

Adapted from the book of the same title by Matt Haig, A Boy Called Christmas is a fantasy film that follows the adventures of a young boy named Nikolas. The move is a reimagining of the story of Father Christmas.

12. My Little Pony

There is not much information available about the upcoming My Little Pony movie but we are keeping our eyes open and will update you if there is any new news.
