As Singapore moves into Phase 3 (Heightened Alert), the Ministry of Education (MOE) will progressively bring students back to school after the June school holidays with some students returning after the 1st week.
We have heard from many parents, and we know many of you may be looking forward to the reopening of schools and the children going back to schools. It looks like some of us, may have to wait longer!
School To Reopen Gradually
With the Phase 3 (Heightened Alert), MOE looks to ease the full resumption of school when Term 3 begins on Monday, 28 June 2021 and having students return back to school in batches. This includes students from primary and secondary schools, junior colleges (JCs) and Millennia Institute (MI), and if affects the 1st week of school.
Primary 1 to 3 & Sec 1 and 2 Students To Return Later
Secondary 1 and 2 students will be on Home-Based Learning (HBL) till 30 June 2021 (Wed) and will return to school from 1 July 2021 (Thu). While Primary 1 to 3 students will be on HBL for the first week, and schools will continue to provide instructions and support for students to access online and hardcopy HBL materials.
Other students, Primary 4 to 6, Secondary 3 to 5 and all JC/MI students will return to school from 28 Jun 2021 (Mon).
Please also note that as 5 July (Mon) is Youth Day, a school holiday. Students will only return to school from 6 July 2021 (Tue).
MOE Kindergartens and School-based Student Care
To facilitate care arrangements, MOE Kindergartens and school-based Student Care Centres will resume fully from 28 June 2021.
For Special Education school students, the return will be staggered from 28 June 2021, based on students' needs, with all students to be back in school from Tuesday, 6 July 2021.
