Children born between 2 Jan 2018 and 1 Jan 2019 (both dates inclusive) will need to take note of this year's (2024) P1 primary school registration exercise.

What Do You Need For The Primary School Registration?

Before you register, you should have chosen a suitable school for your child. Common considerations are the school's reputation, distance from home and even CCA offered.

During the registration process, you should have the following information on hand too.

Valid Singpass to access the Registration Portal

If you do not see details of your child due for P1 registration in the portal, you can register through an online form in the portal. There is no need to submit any documents unless you register through the online form.

On the online form, you will need to submit your child's birth certificate or other applicable documents. Schools may contact you for clarification or additional documents.

Local Versus International Students

P1 registration is conducted over several phases. Phases 1 to 2C Supplementary apply to children who are Singapore Citizens (SC) and Permanent Residents (PR).

International students must register through a 2-step process prior to registration in Phase 3.

If your child is an international student, you should refer to the P1 registration process for international students for details on registering in an MOE primary school and the key date to note is to submit an online indication of interest form, available here from 9am on Tuesday, 28 May 2024 to 4.30pm on Monday, 3 June 2024, otherwise you will not be able to register in Phase 3 of the registration exercise.

Phases and Key Dates

You can only register your child in one school at any phase. Multiple applications will not be accepted. If you made multiple submissions in the same phase, MOE will only take your latest online application.

If you are looking to register your child in another school after securing a space in the previous phase, you will first need to withdraw your place before registering in the new phase. If you did not withdraw, MOE will not process your new registration.

Phase 1

For a child who has a sibling studying in the primary school.

Note: All children registered under this phase are guaranteed places in the schools

The primary school will provide you with the registration details by April. You should submit the online form upon receiving instructions from the school. If you have not received it, please contact the school.

Registration Dates:

From: 9am on Tuesday, 2 July 2024
To: 4.30pm on Thursday, 4 July 2024

Results Date: Wednesday, 10 July 2024

Phase 2A

For a child:

Whose parent or sibling is a former student of the primary school, including those who have joined the alumni association of the primary school as a member.
Whose parent is a member of the School Advisory or Management Committee.
Whose parent is a staff member of the primary school.
From the MOE Kindergarten under the purview of and located within the primary school.

You will need to complete an online registration.

Registration Dates:

From: 9am on Thursday, 11 July 2024
To: 4.30pm on Friday, 12 July 2024

Results Date: Friday, 19 July 2024

Phase 2B

For a child:

Whose parent has joined the primary school as a parent volunteer not later than 1 July of the year before P1 registration and has given at least 40 hours of voluntary service to the school by 30 June of the year of P1 registration.
Whose parent is a member endorsed by the church or clan directly connected with the primary school.
Whose parent is endorsed as an active community leader.
