LEGO® Peach™ joins LEGO® Mario™ and LEGO® Luigi™ for fans to continue to build out their very own LEGO® Super Mario™ adventures.
The LEGO Group announced that LEGO® Peach™ will be entering the universe of LEGO® Super Mario™, a product line developed together with Nintendo. Players will now be able to power up their adventure with even more fun options with the iconic princess when the LEGO® Super Mario™ Adventures with Peach Starter Course becomes available from 1 August 2022.
LEGO® Peach™ brings her recognisable voice and sound effects to the LEGO® Super Mario™. All three interactive figures - LEGO® Peach™, LEGO® Mario™ and LEGO® Luigi™ - will now be available in separate Starter Courses – or entry points into the world of LEGO® Super Mario™. With the Adventures with Peach Starter Course, fans can earn digital coins and discover various reactions by helping the princess ride the swing set and open gifts, while defeating enemies like Lemmy and a Lava Bubble, or befriending a Yellow Toad.
The interactive LEGO® Peach™, LEGO® Mario™ and LEGO® Luigi™ figures are able to connect with one another via Bluetooth (two at a time), where players can greet each other, celebrate, and team up to defeat enemies - earning bonus digital coins by working together. Dual-player action earns more coins, making it even more fun to play together with others.
With the August release, the interactive figures will also be able to trigger positive reactions by eating fruits found across the new sets or gifting fruits to other characters - that’s sure to add even more fun to the adventures in the LEGO® Super Mario™ universe.
 LEGO® Super Mario™ Peach’s Castle Expansion Set
In addition to officially announcing the Peach Starter Course, the LEGO Group is also launching the highly anticipated LEGO® Super Mario™ Peach’s Castle Expansion Set. The castle boasts a range of fun challenges, including knocking Ludwig off the cloud, fixing the broken bridge, and greeting Toadette. It even features a buildable throne room that can spin around to reveal Bowser! There are other fun surprises to discover in the castle like a Bob-omb painting with a secret Action Tag and a cake with a Goomba hiding inside.
The highly requested interactive LEGO® Super Mario™ Adventures with Peach Starter Course and Peach’s Castle Expansion Set are the latest extension of the extremely popular LEGO® Super Mario™ product line, which launched in 2020. As a result of a unique partnership between Nintendo and the LEGO Group, the product line now boasts the three Starter Courses, 17 Expansion Sets, a host of Power-Up Packs and Character Packs, as well as two adult sets.

The LEGO Group will also be launching other LEGO® Super Mario™ products including the 71406 LEGO® Super Mario™ Yoshi’s Gift House Expansion Set, which offers fans a way to say hello to Yoshi, go for a spin on the Treat Carousel and eat yummy fruits to trigger happy reactions and earn coins.

Our Thoughts
Big thanks to The LEGO Group for seeding us the new LEGO Super Mario sets to review!
Being avid fans of LEGO themselves, both my boys (aged 3 and 5) were very very excited upon receiving the sets and couldn't wait to to try them out.
LEGO Super Mario 71403 Adventures with Peach Starter Course
While the LEGO Super Mario 71403 Adventures with Peach Starter Course is recommended for kids aged 6 years and above, I was very pleasantly surprised at my 5-year-old's perseverance and that he could actually follow through the building instructions (albeit under my occasional guidance and supervision).
One of the main features of this set is 'the swing', where Princess Peach could be placed on and be swung up and down. Glad to say that my 3-year-old could also be involved in this area of play together with his older brother.Â
The other Super Mario characters included in this set are Yellow Toad, Lemmy, and a Lava Bubble.
While this starter course can be played as a standalone set, it can also be connected to and played with the other LEGO Super Mario sets.
Another interesting point to note is that this LEGO Super Mario 71403 Adventures with Peach Starter Course also comes with LEGO pieces that are noticeably more girly, (such as flowers and butterflies, etc.) which will certainly appeal to the female crowd, and even to the Super Mario fans in general and/or those who are looking to expand their collection of Super Mario LEGO sets.
71406 LEGO® Super Mario™ Yoshi’s Gift House Expansion Set
I actually enjoyed building this 71406 LEGO® Super Mario™ Yoshi’s Gift House Expansion Set very much!
As compared to the LEGO Super Mario 71403 Adventures with Peach Starter Course (whose concept is very much similar to the earlier LEGO Super Mario and LEGO Luigi starter sets), this 71406 LEGO® Super Mario™ Yoshi’s Gift House Expansion Set brought forth a whole new building experience!
Yoshi is a fan favorite character and the set and its elements are based around Yoshi’s house.
One of the interesting features of this set is the 'Yoshi's bed' on a tree, complete with a pillow for Yoshi to sleep on.
Another key component of this set is the archway, with a labelled ‘Yoshi’. There's also a small blue bird perched atop the tree.Â
The set also comprises a red letter box, a fruit upgrade carousel, as well as a chimney with a small fire burning. Inside the chimney is a simple mechanism to make a piece of Green Fruit fall.Â
And yes, not forgetting Monty Mole, the fossorial enemy in Super Mario World that's also included in this set.
All in all, the kids and I enjoyed the building process thoroughly. This LEGO activity also greatly provided me with the opportunity to bond with my sons, especially with my oldest. It really delights me to see him taking up the challenge of building the LEGO sets with so much joy and determination, and I felt such a huge sense of accomplishment for him when he managed to complete building them.
