The Asia Premier of the highly anticipated theatrical event in 2025, Sunset Boulevard, will feature the legendary Sarah Brightman in the iconic role of Norma Desmond as she marks her theatrical debut at the Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.Â

About Sunset Boulevard
Sunset Boulevard tells a compelling story of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. The legendary silent movie star, Norma Desmond, is cast aside by Hollywood with the rise of "talkies," leaving her tormented by a desire to return to the big screen. Later, she meets struggling Hollywood screenwriter Joe Gillis in a dramatic chance encounter. The two develop a passionate and volatile relationship, which ultimately leads to an unexpected and tragic end.
The musical version had its world premier at Londonâs Adelphi Theatre on July 12th 1993. The show subsequently opened on Broadway at the Minskoff Theatre in November 1994 with the highest advance ticket sales in Broadway history at the time. The original Broadway production won six Tony Awards of the eleven Tony Awards for which it was nominated including Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book.Â
This production of Sunset Boulevard premiered at Melbourneâs Princess Theatre on 29 May 2024 co-produced by GWB Entertainment and Opera Australia. It is presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia.Â
