The Different Colours of Big Bird in Different Countries!

We all know the Big Bird from Sesame Street, but did you know that Big Bird appears in different colours depending on the country the show is from? 

In Singapore, many of us grew up watching Seasame Street, and the iconic yellow Big Bird. This is the American version of Sesame Street, where the character appears in yellow, but for other versions of the show, Big Bird appears in other colours too! 

 Different Countries, Different Colours

As you can see in the tweet below, Big Bird actually appears in multiple colours, but they are actually known as his cousins! In fact, there are 8 of them! 

 This tweet by the Bird himself confirms the news! 

 

So who are his cousins and where are they from? 

There is his Mexican cousin in green. 

 

 

His Dutch cousin, Pino, in light blue. 

 

 

His Turksh cousin in a shade of red / orange. 

 

 

His cousin in Portugal, that seems to have not been on air for awhile.

 

 

and his Brazilian cousin, who looks a tad big frightening.

 

 

In fact, you will find in Big Bird's family tree that he has brothers, a foster family, and more! How interesting is that!
