You’ve probably seen our list of outdoor playgrounds in the north, now it’s time for the east! While it may not have as many quirky structures as the north, the east does has its own watermelons, mangosteens and bumboat.

Playhouse Playground | Hougang

Located by Block 210 Hougang Street 21 is a small colourful neighbourhood playground featuring playhouses with climbing ropes and poles. Each playhouse stands at a different height and are connected via a rope bridge. When kids reach the last structure, they can slide down the tube slide!
Coney Island Park Playground

The rustic Coney Island Park, home to a wide variety of flora and fauna is also home to a nature playgarden. Known as the Casuarina Exploration, the play area was constructed using felled Casuarina trees and other recycled materials. Structured like a mini obstacle course, this environmentally friendly play area features balancing log, wooden bridges and stepping stones that not only kids but even adults can have fun with! The surrounding lush greenery is also a feast for the eyes.
If you are heading down, do not forget to bring your own bottled water as there is no piped water on the island.
Bedok Reservoir Park Playground

Formerly a sand quarry, today the idyllic Bedok Reservoir Park serves as an ideal destination for sports enthusiasts for they can enjoy a series of activities such as cycling, running, skating, and even kayaking. Little ones can also have their fill of running about at the children’s playground. Sitting atop a floor of sand are swings and a two-story play structure with slides and play panels.

The iconic dragon playgrounds are not the only old-school playgrounds that exist today. If you didn’t already know, Tampines has two mosaic playgrounds—the Watermelon playground and the Mangosteen playground, both located close to one another. The playgrounds, inspired by the fruit farms in Tampines, not only provide a nostalgic vibe of the yesteryears, but it also provides plenty of space for little ones to run wild.

Our Tampines Hub has not one, not two, but three free play areas, two of which are indoors. There’s a small playground on B1 for the tiny tots and on level 4, there’s the Kids Playzone, an indoor bouncy castle. Although, do take note that the Kids Playzone is not air-conditioned.
The outdoor playground is located on the Sky Terrace on level 2 and sits partially indoors. This all-inclusive playground has got a mini climbing ramp, small mounds with tunnels going under some of it and trampolines sitting atop the others, play panels, a UFO-like spinner, as well as a wheelchair-accessible swing.
Tampines 1 Playground

Surrounded by neatly manicured lawn and animal topiaries on the rooftop of Tampines 1 is a wildlife-themed water playground. It features an Artic Corner with polar bear and sea lion slides, a Rainforest Area with big water showers, and Hippos spewing water among other elements.
Tampines Green Forest Playground

The lofty towers of the Tampines Green Forest playground that can be spotted from a distance may seem a little daunting for the young ones, after all, the hexagonal map of cargo nets leading up to the first tower is not exactly easy to navigate. When they do conquer the tower, they’ll be able to travel across the other towers via a suspension bridge to the tunnel slide.
For the younger ones (and the young ones who got bored trying to navigate the mass of nets), there is another playground close by. Sitting on mounds of sand, the playground has a main structure with play panels, slide and climbing structures such as pole, ramp and stairs.
Eastpoint Mall

The Eastpoint Mall has a small nautical-themed playground on its rooftop which consists of a simple blue boat-like structure with a slide coming out of it, a simple climbing structure and a more complex structure of ropes for the slightly older kids to challenge. While there are only a few sheltered benches, the concrete ledges surrounding the greeneries provides plenty of space to park yourself at while your little ones run free.
Pasir Ris Park Playground

With Pasir Ris Park’s playground being one of the largest in Singapore, it is worth taking a trip for even if you live on the opposite end. The sprawling playground can be divided into four play areas, each with a different theme—the King of the Hill with a distinctive swing that curves from the top of the hill to the bottom, a Transport-themed play area where the highlight is a spaceship spring rocker, a small Music play area, and a Galactic-themed area with rock climbing walls and a spinning UFO (if you spin hard enough, your memories from seconds before might be erased).
The playground has plenty of climbing structures, cargo nets, suspension bridges, swings, and slides that are likely to keep your little ones busy for hours.

Bumboat Playground

Once upon a time, the bumboat, also known as the sampan was a common sight along Singapore River where it ferried cargo from larger ships to the shore. While it is not as common these days, you can still catch sight of it in some places. One is anchored near the Elias Mall.
Sitting atop a sandpit is the mosaic playground built decades ago to resemble a bumboat. The structure is split into two, featuring a climbing pole and concrete slope on one side and a tyre climbing structure leading up to a set of stairs.
Mariam Walk Playground

At Mariam Walk, you can find a pretty standard play structure with spiral slide, see-saw and climbing structure on a sandpit. While your little ones are running around the playground, you can get some exercise done at the fitness equipment nearby.
Changi Village Playground

If you’re heading out with your young ones for a little lunch at the Changi Village Hawker Centre, you’ll be delighted to know that there is a playground located close by. They can run around at the soft padded playground with slides, monkey bars and a mini climbing wall, or run free at the wide green field surrounding the playground.
Changi Beach Park Playground

Changi Beach Park has not one but two playgrounds. One with the usual suspects—bucket swings, slide, bridges and cargo nets—and another a distinctive orange play structure inspired by the sea. Tots who just can’t get enough of climbing atop couches and chairs will love this playground with its multiple climbing structures. Alongside the swings and slide, the large sandpit also has an abandoned raft for little seafarers looking to set off on a journey across the ocean!

No matter whether your little ones are in the mood to sweat it out or splash about, their wish can come true at Changi City Point. Located under the open sky on the second floor is The 3 House Playground, which is made up of dry and wet play area. The dry play area consists of an obstacle course while the wet play area has got water cannons, showers, tunnel, water buckets, and even a spinning carousel. There is also a small area off to the side where your little ones can wash up after all the frolicking.

Marine Cove Playground

Sprawled across near the centre of East Coast Park is the Marine Cove Playground. Centred around the three-story tower modelled after a lighthouse with climbing nets, slides and suspension bridge leading out of it, are an assortment of swings, see-saw, mini-maze, play panels, plenty of climbing structures, and much more.
