Yew Tee Lifestyle Corridor
The Yew Tee Lifestyle Corridor is one of the largest town-wide projects in Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC. It comprises three thematic sections – Heart of Yew Tee, Spirit of Kampong, and Celebration of Harvest.
The Spirit of Kampong area, launched in August 2024 alongside the Celebration of Harvest, features the Treehouse Playground, a street soccer court, and the community pavilion, Kampong Pavilion.
Meanwhile, the Celebration of Harvest stretch includes the Sensory Garden, the Orchard Playground, fitness corners, a rehabilitation exercise corner, and an amphitheatre
A new section, opened on 10 Nov 2024, and this exciting new section includes new park facilities - Heritage Plaza, Waterplay Plaza, Sampan Garden, and Oil Drum Playground!
Waterplay Plaza
Operating Hours: 9 am - 8 pm daily
Another neighbourhoor water playground opens, adding to the existing ones at Jelutung Harbour Park, Play @ Heights Park (Toa Payoh), Buangkok Square Park, Oasis Water Park (Yishun) and Choa Chu Kang Mini-waterpark. Click here for more water playgrounds in Singapore.
Located just next to Yew Tee MRT, Waterplay Plaza is a fun, interactive water playground designed to keep families and children active, enhancing their outdoor experience. It includes a number of play elements from water sprouts to splashing buckets, that is sure to excite the little ones. So make sure to come dressed to get wet!
A little water slide for young ones to slide down on.
And if you want to get wet, definitely stand underneath the splashing buckets, a popular feature with the kids!
Don't miss the water guns and spray tunnels too!
There also a little stream play for young ones to splash around in or to place little toys that can float along. The cascading bowls of water is also another simple but fun feature for younger ones!
To get started with the water play, simply press the button at the playground. Do take note of where you are standing at the playground or you just might get quite wet when someone presses the button!
What we really liked is that there are multiple changing rooms for kids to change in. Note that there are no showers in the changing room but open showers on the outside of the changing rooms.
Oil Drum Playground
Walk further down Yew Tee Lifestyle Corridor and you will come across the Oil Drum Playground. A thematic playground that evokes Yew Tee’s history as a wartime oil storage facility, featuring playful oil barrel structures to ignite children’s imagination.
If you do not intend to get wet, this is the place for the little ones to play while you can get to sit at the many seats around.
The Oil Drum Playground consist of 2 structures.
The first are 2 oil drums "buried" in the grounds. Kids can climb within the oil drums with climbing ropes and nets. There is a little tunnel that connects the 2 oil drums.
Climb up to the highest vantage point on the taller oil drum to get a view of the neighbourhood or slide down the little slide connected to the shorter one.
Next to it is another smaller structure with 3 mini oil drums. Kids can climb through the oil drums or up a ladder to the top drum too.
What to bring?
If you are heading to the water playground, definitely bring along change of clothes and towel for your child, and maybe even for yourself. The playground is quite well sheltered since it is beneath the MRT tracks, but you may still wish to bring along a portable fan.
Water bottles and insect repellent are as always a must too.
How to get here?
The Waterplay Plaza and Oil Drum Playground are just next to each other and you can reach it easily from Yew Tee MRT. Buses that stop along Choa Chu Kang Dr. will also get you to the playground.
For those driving, you can park at the malls, Yew Tee Square and Yew Tee Mall. The nearest carpark is the Multi-story Carpark at 621A Choa Chu Kang North 7, Singapore 681621
