Logcakes, also known as bûche de Noël, were first created in France in the 19th century to represent the logs that families burned to keep them warm on Christmas eve. Today, the tradition of serving log cakes during the festive period is enjoyed around the globe and the best chefs keep it novel by creating the most beautiful and delectable variants.
This year, Cat & the Fiddle’s (C&F) array of decadent cheese-based logcakes keep up the wonderful tradition in celebration of the year end festivities. Let's take a look at what you can expect!
The Festive Collection
Step into the enchanting world of Minty Wonderland with a timeless favourite the Chocolate Mint Log Cheesecake ($72.90). Every mouthful evokes the feeling of warmth and adventure. Every slice unveils a layer of dark chocolate cheese mousse, delicately encased with mint chocolate chip cheese mousse, resting atop the chocolate hazelnut feuilletine and a velvety dark chocolate sponge. Enrobed with a luscious layer of chocolate ganache, embellished with roasted hazelnut bits, and topped with a beautifully piped layer of Crème Chantilly.
Elevate the year end celebrations with a special touch of A Dice of Spice, courtesy of the cosy and nostalgia-inducing Apple Cinnamon Log Cheesecake ($68.90). The centrepiece shines with the exquisite caramelised apple filling that complements perfectly with the chocolate sponge base that simply melts in the mouth. To complete the dessert, the logcake is enveloped in cinnamon caramel cheese mousse and Crème Chantilly, resembling a snow-covered landscape in winter.
Get into the festive spirit by grooving to the lively rhythm of Rock n Roll! with some upbeat Christmas tunes while enjoying the Rocky Road cheesecake ($58.90), a symphony of texture and flavours. It features the luscious milk chocolate cheese mousse paired with macadamia nuts, almonds, cranberries and miniature marshmallows, resting on top of the all-time favourite OREO® biscuit crust. This mouthwatering cheesecake features an artful arrangement of additional nuts, cranberries, marshmallows and dark chocolate drizzle.
