Street Light-up

Chinatown is once again beautifully decorated with street light-up to mark the celebration of Lunar New Year. Designed by students from the Singapore University of Technology and Design, this year street light-up will feature sculptured lanterns from cub to tiger striving to achieve strength and vitality in their growing up. Not forgetting the centrepiece between New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street that comprise a family of tigers to signify reunion, harmony and prosperity.
Chinatown Wishing Tree

Make your Lunar New Year wishes come true at the Chinatown Wishing Tree! Write wishes for yourself and your loved ones on the “Make a Wish” card and hang them on the wishing tree. The public may donate a minimum of $2/- or more for each wishing card. All proceeds will go to Kreta Ayer – Kim Seng Community Development Welfare Fund that will be used to organise community programmes to help the needy elderly and low-income families.
Online Getai

Singapore crowd favourite “Getai” will be online to bring festive cheers to all. Famous getai artistes will be presenting their best songs and dance at online getai and to bring you and your family “Heng, Ong, Huat” to your home for a healthy and prosperous Year of the Tiger.
Chinatown Walking Trail

Date: 22, 23, 29 and 30 Jan 2022, 5 pm - 7 pm
Fee: $35 per pax
Organised by Everyday Tour Company, the public may join the Chinatown Chinese New Year Walking Trail to immerse in the festive atmosphere, learn about the traditions and heritage, catch the tiger sculptures, enjoy the local delicacies and experience the dazzling street light-up.

Adopt A Lantern
Date: 15 - 22 Feb, collection after 2 Mar 2022

You may adopt one or more recycled lanterns that you like after the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebration Street light-up ends on 2 March 2022. Adoption of recycled lanterns is free but the you will have to arrange manpower and transport to collect the lantern. Interested parties may email adoptalantern@chinatownfestivals.sg for enquiry.
