Celebrate at the Annual Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival

As Singapore marks its 60th year of independence, the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 returns with a vibrant celebration of light, heritage and community spirit. From 7 Sep to 20 Oct, Chinatown will transform into a festive precinct filled with handcrafted displays, community activities and cultural programmes that showcase our rich multiculturalism and Chinese traditions.

The Official Street Light-Up and Opening Ceremony will take place on 18 September 2025 at 6:00pm at Kreta Ayer Square. This year's centrepiece is a striking 8-metre-tall centrepiece showcasing the number 60, flanked by rabbits, mooncakes, orchids and lanterns against the Singapore skyline. 

Beyond the lanterns, families can also expect programmes and activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival!

Mid-Autumn Family FUN with Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Singapore Chinese Orchestra

Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) have come together to present Mid-Autumn Family FUN 2025 to celebrate the festival in the CBD. 

One of the key highlights of this year’s festival will be Moongazing with Monday Bruce, an art installation at SCCC’s Roof Garden featuring five giant illuminated inflatables of Monday Bruce, the main rabbit character from a popular series of collectible blind boxes. The installation will be on display from 11 September to 30 November 2025, 10am to 10pm daily, at SCCC’s Roof Garden.

Other programme highlights include:

• Parent-Child Workshops: A series of interactive hands-on sessions for parent-and-child or grandparent-and-children pairings to experience soap-making, tea-whisking and traditional Chinese medicine scented pouch making.
• Rabbit's Brew House:  An experiential tea house at SCCC’s Multi-Purpose Hall bringing together mooncake sampling and tea tasting, crosstalk and hanfu dance performances, hanfu sharing and photo-taking, cellophane lantern-making and Chinese knot-making activities. 
• Play It Chill: Free performances and activities at SCCC’s Level 1 Concourse suitable for all ages, ranging from drumming acts by Drum Feng, storytelling, poetry reciting to lantern riddles and fan painting.

Visitors to SCCC and SCH can also participate in a bingo game that encourages exploration of various venues within the premises. By completing different MAFF 2025 activities – from performances to workshops and character hunts – visitors can collect stamps and redeem exclusive prizes, such as silkscreen printed tote bags in partnership with STPI, and Munchi pancakes.

Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay pays tribute to how the festival has been celebrated through the years in Singapore. Join beloved local character Ang Ku Kueh Girl™ and her friends as they take you through how the country has evolved from humble fishing village to high-rise HDB living through the illuminated beauty of large-scale lantern sets.

Don’t miss two special lantern displays that represent a beautiful celebration of international friendship. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea’s lantern commemorates 50 years of Singapore-Korea relations with the Merlion and Haetae – the latter a mythical guardian embodying justice and fairness. Shanghai’s YUYUAN Inc. – the company behind the iconic annual Yuyuan Lantern Festival in Shanghai – presents a lantern inspired by the Chinese tale Zhuangzi’s Dream of the Butterfly, in the 35^th year of Singapore-China ties.

In addition to the lantern displays, visitors can look forward to an extensive lineup of cultural performances and workshops, as well as an array of delectable food and fun carnival games.

Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration at Orchid Country Club Golf Course

Here's a unique way to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival! 

Organised by My Family Kaki, part of NTUC Club’s UPlay community, and Orchid Country Club, families are invited to the green at OCC, for an unforgettable festive get-together with loved ones as the exclusive space transforms into a moonlit playground for all.

The evening will kick off with a carnival of family-friendly fringe activities, including DIY lantern-making and hands-on games, perfect for participants of all ages. Following the fun, guests can enjoy a buffet dinner with loved ones, featuring a selection of local and festive treats.

After dinner, the festivities continue with a lantern walk along a closed golf course. Along the route, participants can take part in a riddle quest and redeem a special gift upon completion. Other highlights of the evening include a special Mid-Autumn themed storytelling segment, fun-filled competitions such as Best Dressed and Best Lantern, as well as special appearances by My Family Kaki’s mascots, Enzo and Kayla.

Celebrate Mid-Autumn at PAssionArts Festival 

Celebrate Mid-Autumn with a creative twist as PAssionArts Festival 2025 Villages light up neighbourhoods across Singapore on 27–28 September.

This weekend’s highlights include crochet and shrink art in Paya Lebar, lantern riddles and a face-changing act at Kampong Glam’s Zhongshan Park, and lantern making with lion dance performances at Ulu Pandan’s Ghim Moh Gardens. Over at Woodgrove, Admiralty, and Canberra, residents can enjoy crafts ranging from clay food art and henna to glow-in-the-dark moon art and a Guzheng ensemble under the full moon. The celebrations wrap up at Kolam Ayer, with tote bag painting, ang ku kueh clay crafts, and live music by Guitar Jie Jie.

From lantern painting to Cantonese opera, the PAssionArts Festival Villages promise a weekend of colour, creativity, and connection—celebrating Mid-Autumn traditions while shining a light on our heartland communities.
