Celebrate at the Annual Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival

As Singapore marks its 60th year of independence, the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 returns with a vibrant celebration of light, heritage and community spirit. From 7 Sep to 20 Oct, Chinatown will transform into a festive precinct filled with handcrafted displays, community activities and cultural programmes that showcase our rich multiculturalism and Chinese traditions.
The Official Street Light-Up and Opening Ceremony will take place on 18 September 2025 at 6:00pm at Kreta Ayer Square. This year's centrepiece is a striking 8-metre-tall centrepiece showcasing the number 60, flanked by rabbits, mooncakes, orchids and lanterns against the Singapore skyline.Â
Beyond the lanterns, families can also expect programmes and activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival!
Mid-Autumn Family FUN with Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and Singapore Chinese Orchestra

Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) have come together to present Mid-Autumn Family FUN 2025 to celebrate the festival in the CBD.Â
One of the key highlights of this yearâs festival will be Moongazing with Monday Bruce, an art installation at SCCCâs Roof Garden featuring five giant illuminated inflatables of Monday Bruce, the main rabbit character from a popular series of collectible blind boxes. The installation will be on display from 11 September to 30 November 2025, 10am to 10pm daily, at SCCCâs Roof Garden.
Other programme highlights include:
- Parent-Child Workshops:Â A series of interactive hands-on sessions for parent-and-child or grandparent-and-children pairings to experience soap-making, tea-whisking and traditional Chinese medicine scented pouch making.
- Rabbit's Brew House: An experiential tea house at SCCCâs Multi-Purpose Hall bringing together mooncake sampling and tea tasting, crosstalk and hanfu dance performances, hanfu sharing and photo-taking, cellophane lantern-making and Chinese knot-making activities.Â
- Play It Chill: Free performances and activities at SCCCâs Level 1 Concourse suitable for all ages, ranging from drumming acts by Drum Feng, storytelling, poetry reciting to lantern riddles and fan painting.
Visitors to SCCC and SCH can also participate in a bingo game that encourages exploration of various venues within the premises. By completing different MAFF 2025 activities â from performances to workshops and character hunts â visitors can collect stamps and redeem exclusive prizes, such as silkscreen printed tote bags in partnership with STPI, and Munchi pancakes.

Donât miss two special lantern displays that represent a beautiful celebration of international friendship. The Embassy of the Republic of Koreaâs lantern commemorates 50 years of Singapore-Korea relations with the Merlion and Haetae â the latter a mythical guardian embodying justice and fairness. Shanghaiâs YUYUAN Inc. â the company behind the iconic annual Yuyuan Lantern Festival in Shanghai â presents a lantern inspired by the Chinese tale Zhuangziâs Dream of the Butterfly, in the 35th year of Singapore-China ties.

Celebrate Mid-Autumn at PAssionArts FestivalÂ

Celebrate Mid-Autumn with a creative twist as PAssionArts Festival 2025 Villages light up neighbourhoods across Singapore on 27â28 September.
This weekendâs highlights include crochet and shrink art in Paya Lebar, lantern riddles and a face-changing act at Kampong Glamâs Zhongshan Park, and lantern making with lion dance performances at Ulu Pandanâs Ghim Moh Gardens.
