8. Visit the Newly Opened Rivervale Shores Free Outdoor Playgrounds

Located within the new HDB BTO housing estate at Sengkang East Drive is the Rivervale Shores Playgrounds consisting of 3 adventure playgrounds suitable for young kids from 2 years old up to 12 and above!
First, there is the Flying Bird Playground that is inspired by real birds nests! You will notice 3 differently coloured "bird nests" with lots of opportunities for kids to climb into and out of the bird nests, as well as climbing within the nests as well! Hammock themed climbs and steps can be spotted around the whole playground, as well as net tunnel bridges combining the 3 nests too!
Around the corner is a playground great for children below 6 years old. This playground is designed for younger ones with a smaller climbing tower with slides, stepping blocks for climbing adventures, puzzle boards, interactive play-things and music making spots for everyone.
Lastly, beside Sungei Serangoon Park Connector and over-looking the riverfront, is another playground that is not yet open to public yet. The bird-themed play area comes with many slides and climbing elements as well as sand pits, trampolines and more tube slides too.

12. Learn More about the 2,000 Year Old Legend of Guan Yin

Discover the 2,000-year-old legend of Guan Yin (观音), the Goddess of Mercy, and the life value of 慈 (kindness) she embodies. This is a non-religious workshop that is taught in Mandarin by the Academy of Classical Chinese Culture.
The academy offers workshops on the forgotten Chinese legends passed down over generations, and the important life values embodied in them. The workshops are non-religious, and provide an inclusive and engaging way for participants to discover or reconnect with their cultural heritage.
At this Kids Workshop (5 - 7 years old) about the legend of Guan Yin, kids will get to learn about Guan Yin’s origin story, whereby she was a princess kicked out of the palace by her father (the king), but returned in disguise to cure him of an illness by sacrificing her hands, an act which moved the heavens. She was given thousands of hands in return. They will also understand the meaning of the name Guan Yin, which literally translates into Seeing Sound. Just how do you see a sound?
There will also an exercise in forgiveness set to meditative music, helping children intentionally experience the sensation of forgiving - and being forgiven, a mock pilgrimage in the classroom, origami exercise involving the lotus, the flower associated with Guan Yin, and the 4 virtues it embodies, and more!

Along the southern stretch of the Rail Corridor, the Buona Vista Community Node is new 1.6ha space along the Rail Corridor offering access to additional community spaces that includes a playground, fitness areas and open lawn.

14. Explore Stories of Our Built Heritage at Singapore HeritageFest 2024

Singapore HeritageFest (SHF) returns from 1 to 26 May with over 120 programmes that celebrate the stories and living heritage behind Singapore’s buildings, sites, and structures. Happening as part of vOilah! France Singapore Festival 2024, the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) is the leading festival in Asia for children’s stories and young adult (YA) fiction. Targeting writers, illustrators, translators, publishers, educators and media professionals, AFCC offers a series of exciting conferences and free public programmes that promote the creation and appreciation of quality children's literature and YA with a focus on Asian themes. The festival’s 15th edition explores the theme "Curiosity," and how it inspires children to innovate, imagine and explore the world around them through books and stories. This year’s highlights include the presence of two celebrated France-based authors and illustrators. Gardens by the Bay’s signature Children’s Festival returns for its 10th edition during the June school holidays, this time featuring Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2!
The Supertree Grove will be the only place in Southeast Asia where families can enjoy an Inside Out 2-themed outdoor carnival with large-scale installations, and most of the activities are free. 23. Tulipmania Returns to Gardens by the Bay for its 10th Edition

Evoking the charm of iconic tulip farms in the Netherlands, at Tulipmania 2024, tulips are uniformly planted in rows of singular colour, this year’s floral display presents a blend of tradition and modernity, with quintessential elements of the traditional Dutch landscape such as the windmill and watermill juxtaposed against modern features that showcase technological advancements in urban farming and clean energy.
Taking centerstage is what brings people back year after year – the tulips. Some 54,000 tulips of more than 20 varieties are set to charm visitors all over again. Every show introduces new varieties, and this year, there are four to look out for!

Get to experience the Northern Lights in Singapore with Borealis, a new immersive light and sound installation at Gardens by the Bay’s Supertree Grove!
Created by Switzerland-based artist Dan Acher, Borealis is an outdoor art installation that combines layers of light and cloud particles where the magical splendour of the Northern Lights, also known as aurora borealis, is recreated to illuminate the night skies of Supertree Grove. Accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack by French composer Guillaume Desbois, variations in wind, humidity and temperature make this installation a fascinating blend of art and technology, an ever-changing experience, where each encounter is unique and where nature holds the final say.
Borealis has travelled to more than 40 cities across Europe, Australia, Asia and the US, and the experience at Gardens by the Bay will mark its first time in Singapore.

To be held on Sunday, May 26th at Marina Barrage, the Income Eco Run (IER) is back with the theme, “How Far Will You Go for Zero Waste”, and challenges Singaporeans to run their distance for the cause.
This year’s edition of IER features a new Kids Category encouraging little champs between 4 - 12 years to participate and join the green team with the option of choosing their distance of 700m or 1km. To promote eco-consciousness, the Kids Category running bibs will be made from seed paper that can be used to plant and grow flowers, fruits, or vegetables after the run.
After the run, participants can step into the IER Village for sustainable fun, participants can dive into interactive games like the waste-sorting challenge to learn the intricacies of waste-handling and snag some awesome sustainable swag, including trendy tote bags to spread the eco-love.
