There will be no Great Christmas Village Fair, but the light-up along Orchard Road will still continue this year! You may even see it on a 360-degree virtual tour!
The Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) announced that the Christmas light-up along Orchard Road will be happening from 13 Nov 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Street activities will be scaled back and for the first time, families can also experience the light-up through a 360-degree virtual tour from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura! All these are to minimise the risk of crowds gathering.
Love This Christmas
The theme of this year's Christmas light-up, Love This Christmas, is a dedication to frontline workers in recognition of contributions through this period. There will also be special promotions for shopping, dining and services for these workers, and details will be made available on the Christmas on a Great Street microsite at a later date.
The centre-piece will be the main arch at the Orchard- Paterson Road junction. It will be decorated with a huge blue ribbon with glittering reindeers and hollies!
Light-Up Schedule
Love This Christmas will run from 13 Nov 2020 to 1 Jan 2021. The opening will be officiated by President Halimah at ION Orchard and will be live-streamed online too. The Live Stream will start from 8.30 pm on 13 Nov 2020, the virtual tour will also be made available at the same time!
Otherwise, the lights will be turned on from
- 6.30 pm to 12 am from Sun to Thu
- 6.30 pm to 2 am on Fri and Sat
- 6.30 pm to 6 am on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
