This year, Gardens by the Bay's Flower Dome transforms into a breathtaking scene straight from Japan's Fukuoka prefecture, marking the 10th anniversary of its beloved cherry blossom display. Prepare to be immersed in a world of delicate pink and white blooms, where ancient traditions meet modern artistry.
An Extensive Floral Display

To celebrate a decade of making cherry blossoms bloom in the tropics—this year’s floral display will showcase a record 440 cherry blossom trees spanning 48 varieties—the largest and most diverse collection yet.
Visitors can look forward to the most diverse showcase of cherry blossoms yet, featuring trees of both upright and weeping varieties, with petals in an array of white and pink hues. These stunning blooms are complemented by a myriad of Japanese-themed events and activities.
A Celebration of Fukuoka's Heritage

This iconic floral display goes beyond simply showcasing cherry blossoms. It's a cultural journey, inviting visitors to explore the heart of Fukuoka. Key highlights include:

- Kokura Castle Recreation: Amidst the sea of pink and white blooms stands a recreation of the historic Kokura Castle in the city of Kitakyushu, accompanied by 130 enchanting bamboo lanterns specially brought in from the city’s annual Takeakari Bamboo Lantern Festival.

- "Phantom Castle" Illumination: Witness a modern marvel with the "phantom castle" – a captivating light installation that reimagines the keep of Fukuoka Castle. This ethereal display creates a magical ambiance amidst the sea of cherry trees.

- Traditional Art and Crafts: Delve into Fukuoka's cultural traditions through displays of intricate handicrafts and captivating artworks, adding depth and authenticity to the floral showcase.
A Sensory Delight

A highlight of this year’s display is the Japanese weeping cherry, Prunus yedoensis Yoshino Shidare, a rare sight even in Japan. This tree is known for its gracefully cascading branches adorned with clusters of soft pink flowers.
Making its debut is the Japanese Hill Cherry, Prunus lannesiana Kawazu-zakura. Native to Japan, this striking variety stands out with its large, vibrant blooms that range from deep pink to an almost reddish hue—distinct from the typically pastel-coloured cherry blossoms.
Crowd favourite Prunus Accolade, a mainstay since the floral display first began in 2016, also returns. Known for its abundant clusters of pale pink blooms, this beloved variety continues to captivate visitors year after year.
More Than Just Flowers

The splendid burst of cherry blossoms was complemented by an array of free Japanese-themed events and activities both in the indoors and outdoors
