Science Centre Singapore has lined up a series of programs for the little ones and families this July! Here's a list of what's happening this month!
1. I Am A Young Mixed Reality Creator

Specially designed for students aged 10 to 15 years, the first ever complimentary “I Am A Young Mixed Reality Creator” workshop is part of the annual Caltex Singapore’s Fuel Your School Tech programme. It will be conducted as a home-based learning virtual classroom setting with at least three Science Educators in each class, guiding participants to fulfil the following objectives:
- Learn about Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR)
- Create an Augmented Reality project using ZapWorks and a comic book
- Complete the “I am a Young Mixed Reality (MR) Creator” programme and receive an e-certificate and badge upon completion

2. Once Upon A Mystery

Join Pepper in this online workshop as she revisits the crime scene of the famous fairy tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and puts her investigative skills to the test with her trusty glow-in-the-dark decoder!

3. The Pom-fect Journey

How do seeds travel to a perfect place to set their roots? Follow Pom the Pomegranate in our online workshop to discover more about seed dispersal and the characteristics of different seeds. Complete the journey by growing your very own pomegranate plant!

Jointly presented by Science Centre Singapore and A*STAR, this year’s Singapore Science Festival revolves around the theme "Empowered by Science", reflecting the starting point of endless possibilities stemming from various innovative ideas.
The annual festival is back and has gone fully digital for the first time ever this year with signature events such as X-periment!, STAR Lecture guest performance, Science Buskers Festival and the Royal Institution Science Shows. 6. Science At Home

To continue sparking curiosity, wonder and passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.), Science Centre Singapore’s dedicated team of Science Educators has curated the Science at Home series – a stay-home series offering a myriad of online resources across different formats and topics, specially curated for all age groups!
From conducting simple science experiments, reading interesting blog articles about the viral Dalgona Coffee or the importance of social distancing, all the way to learning about simple science concepts using the Ready Steady Science material, there is no lack of edu-tainment for the young and young at heart!
7. Young Scientist Badge Scheme (Online)

Keep your kids occupied with Science Centre Singapore’s Young Scientist Badge Scheme, now available online!
Explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) topics with self-directed activities across more than 10 different Young Scientist badges, including the popular I am a Young Zoologist, I am a Young Botanist, I am a Young Food Scientist and I am a Young Geologist badges. Simply complete the assigned activities to earn your badge and certificate, which will be presented at an official award ceremony in September 2020.
In partnership with the Temasek Foundation, the online programme now features a complimentary I am a Young Sustainability Champion badge for both primary and secondary school students. Through the curated activities, students can learn more about renewable energy and responsible food consumption.
