2. Catch The Perseid Meteor Shower!

Get ready for one of the most spectacular celestial events of the year—the Perseid Meteor Shower!

Meteors, often called "shooting stars," are tiny rocks from space that burn up in Earth’s atmosphere, creating brilliant streaks of light. Named after the constellation Perseus, this annual meteor shower occurs from mid-July to late August, peaking between 12 to 13 August 2024. Expect to see 50-100 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. Best viewing times are from midnight to dawn, away from city lights. Find a dark spot away from city lights, like parks or beaches. No special equipment needed—just look up and enjoy!

Besides the Perseids, watch out for other celestial events this year, like the Sturgeon Moon on 20 August 2024 and the Geminids Meteor Shower later in December.

Experience the magic of the night sky with your family during this breathtaking natural show!
