Changi Airport will reopen Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 to the public on 1 Sep, more than 3 months after they were closed to the public.
After being closed for over 3 months, Changi Airport Terminal 1 and 3 will be reopening to the public from 1 September 2021. While Jewel had reopened earlier, the terminals had remained closed to public except for a handful of tenants that served the airport staff.
Additional Covid-19 Safeguards
The reopening will be done with additional COVID-19 safeguards. This includes restricting the use of the arrival halls to arriving passengers and professional meet-and-greet services to minimise interaction between arriving passengers and local residents.
A new dedicated dining area has also been set up at Terminal 3 Basement 2 next to the Kopitiam food court just for airport staff, to minimise their interaction with the public. The air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems at the terminals have also been enhanced
Parts of Terminal 3 Remain Closed
The food and beverage, and retail outlets located at Terminal 3's arrival hall will be temporarily closed to the public as parts of the area has been converted into a staff rest area.
Free Parking at Terminal 3
As part of the reopening, Changi Airport will also be offering free unlimited parking at Terminal 3 until 10 Oct 2021. For those who feel comfortable to, it might be a good time to visit the Terminal 3 Basement 2 where you will find the indoor playground Play! by Kinderplay, Zone X (get 125 Zone X Tokens @ $20, U.P. $31.25) and The Slide@Changi.
