Singapore furniture companies transform NLB library spaces in second Community TakeOver

Looking for a unique way to spend quality time with your family? The National Library Board (NLB) has transformed three of its libraries into immersive storytelling spaces as part of its Community TakeOver!
This exciting collaboration with homegrown furniture brands—Glamping Society, Scanteak, and FortyTwo—brings beloved stories to life, making reading an unforgettable experience for families!
About Community TakeOver
Community TakeOver, an initiative by NLB to showcase Singapore brands, will see partners transform sections into immersive storytelling spaces to spark imagination and inspiration for more ways families can spend time together.
This includes fitting out spaces with cosy bedroom-like setups, tents and other locally designed furniture. You can enjoy immersive, themed storytelling areas featuring elements of science fiction, fairy tales and mystery — where stories come to life and families can engage in meaningful reading moments together to foster close parent-child connections.
From today, which coincides with the March school holidays, the companies’ furniture will be featured at the following libraries:
• Glamping Society at Bishan Public Library
• Scanteak at Punggol Regional Library
• FortyTwo at Jurong Regional Library

Bishan Public Library: A Camping Adventure
Step into a glamping-style storytelling space created by Glamping Society. Picture reading your child’s favorite bedtime story inside a cozy tent, surrounded by soft furnishings that make you feel like you’re on an outdoor adventure!
Punggol Regional Library: A Cozy Scandinavian Retreat
Designed by Scanteak, this space is all about comfort and connection. The warm and inviting teakwood setup encourages families to slow down, relax, and enjoy a heartwarming reading session together.
Jurong Regional Library: A Modern Storytelling Haven
With the help of FortyTwo, this area features a stylish and functional reading space where kids and parents can immerse themselves in the magic of stories while feeling right at home.

The immersive spaces at Punggol and Jurong Regional Libraries will be available for six months, while the one at Bishan Public Library is open for three months. Each library features different themes, such as:
