Home to mountains, lush greeneries, lakeside walkways and a traditional nine-turn bridge is Bihu Park.
The central attraction of Bihu Park, one of the many green lungs in the city, is Dapi Lake. Formerly used for farming irrigation before the park was built, Dapi Lake makes up nearly half of the park’s space.

In addition to the lake, the park’s natural scenery boasts thriving foliage and flora such as melaleuca trees, willows, phoenix trees, hibiscus, and rhododendron. Man-made additions include Chinese-style pavilions, a nine-turn bridge and stairways leading up to hiking trails in the mountain.Â

You can catch the sunlight glimmer on the lake’s surface as well as the occasional herons and egrets from the paved walkways, which surrounds the lake.Â

Or you can choose one of the several trails leading up to the mountains for a little hike. It is not too steep and is relatively easy enough for little ones to conquer. And if you’re lucky, you will be able to catch sight of squirrels running up trees. Either way, you will be greeted with a beautiful view and a tranquil ambience that will probably leave you feeling refreshed.Â

If a hike up the mountain or a leisurely stroll around the park is not energy-consuming enough for the kids, try a trip to the park’s playground. The play structure is simple but enough for little ones to enjoy climbing, swinging or running around.Â
Bihu Park is a short 10-minute walk away from Wende Station. And if the hunger pangs hit you in the middle of your nature escapade, there are several restaurants nearby, such as the Elephant Garden Neihu, Dahu Restaurant and 89 Restaurant.Â
If you’re up for a little exploration, located around Bihu Park are the Jinbi Temple, Huguang Open-air Market and Ziyang Park, which has slides and a playground and is spacious enough for little ones to run about.Â
