Sisters' Islands Marina Park
The 40ha Sisters' Islands Marine Park consist of Big Sister's and Small Sister's Islands, as well as the western reefs of St John's Island and Pulau Tekukor.
The jewel of the Marine Park, Big Sister’s Island, is the only place in the marine park that is open to visitors. Small Sister’s Island is zoned for research and conservation, while the western reefs of both St John’s Island and Pulau Tekukor are submerged.
Note that the marine park opens on Oct. 28, ferry operations will only start from Oct. 29.
Floating Boardwalk Experience
The newly added 220m Floating Boardwalk – Singapore’s first floating boardwalk that also serves as a coral habitat and research site. It rises and falls with the tides, allowing visitors to view corals and marine biodiversity up close regardless of the tide level.
Families can get a close look at marine life in a safe, eco-friendly way. The boardwalk allows kids to see various coral species while being out of the water—an exciting yet gentle encounter with the marine world.
There will also be submerged panels act as a nursery for corals to establish and grow, and along the boardwalk, families can spot five moon pools, square pools of water that open to the sea below, so marine experiments can be carried out in a field setting.
Ocean Network Express Coastal Forest Trail
Check out the new 230m Ocean Network Express Coastal Forest Trail that runs through the heart of Big Sister’s Island.
To top off your experience, snap a few pictures at the Hilltop View Deck at the highest point of the trail. The deck overlooks the floating boardwalk, and allows one to peer over and admire the surrounding offshore islands like Pulau Jong and Pulau Semakau.
Lagoons for Families
Big Sister’s Island also has two lagoons for families and children to swim in and go on intertidal walks on when tides are low. The smaller of two lagoons has been restructured into a tidal pool that will retain seawater during low tides. Here, families can take part in intertidal walks at low tide to observe marine life, including the Haddon’s carpet anemone, sandfish and flower crab.
Public Gallery at the Marine Park Outreach and Education Centre
Located on St John's Island, this education centre features live displays of marine creatures and coral nurseries. Children can interact with exhibits, learn about marine biodiversity, and discover conservation efforts in Singapore’s coastal ecosystems.
You will need to purchase your own ferry ticket at Marina South Pier and take the ferry to St John's Island. The gallery is a 10-minute walk from the jetty.
