Baker X Welcomes Its Next Resident, Pomedochi

Pomedochi is next in the line-up of homebased bakers to take up residency at Baker X from 21 December 2022 to 4 February 2023.

Pomedochi (@pomedochi) will be offering an array of thoughtfully curated artisanal tarts, along with handmade mochis.

About Baker X

Launched in December 2021 by Far East Organization, Baker X aims to support home-based bakers by providing them with an opportunity to have first-hand experience running a brick-and-mortar storefront and interacting with customers face-to-face with a fully fitted baking studio and a 10-seater café. 

Patrons can dine in or takeaway the baked goods at the café on Level 4 of Orchard Central (opposite Genki Sushi). The café is operated in tandem with social enterprise, Foreword Coffee Roasters.

There will be a line-up of bakers throughout the year, and each baker will be in residence for between 2 to 6 weeks. 

Tarts

Made from scratch with premium ingredients, look forward to her bestsellers such as the refreshing Lemon Yuzu Meringue Tart ($9) and Pistachio Raspberry Tart ($9). The former features a base of lemon frangipane and lemon curd, topped with yuzu meringue and yuzu jelly dots, while the latter highlights layers of nutty pistachio crémeux, sweet raspberry coulis jelly, pistachio Chantilly, finished with crushed pistachio bits and raspberry halves.

The stunning Araguani Moonlight Tart ($9) will satisfy all chocolate lovers with its filling of Valrhona 72% Araguani Dark Chocolate Ganache and coat of dark mirror glaze. Crack open the chocolate ‘moon’ on top to reveal crispy mini chocolate rice balls and feuilletine confetti.

Launched specially for Christmas, the Noel Tart ($9) is a white chocolate fantasy come true. Bring festivities to the table with this festive red and white tart, which sees a pâte sablé lined with a layer of luscious white chocolate ganache, studded with cranberry bits. It is then embellished with a pomegranate jelly centre, surrounded by a piping of yogurt cream cheese trimming and crowned with a white and red chewy milk nougat.

Perfect for gifting or celebrations, one may also opt for the customised Tart Gift Box ($36 for 4 tarts).

Pomedochi also offers bite-sized Petit Tarts* ($2.50 for 3.5cm) and exclusively at Baker X, all tarts are available for individual purchase.
