For 32 years,the Da Paolo family brought the sublime pleasures of the Italian table to Singaporean diners, winning hearts and, with 10 establishments around the island, becoming a household name. The outlet at Great World is the eighth Da Paolo Gastronomia and joins Da Paolo Dempsey Restaurant & Bar, Da Paolo Pizza Bar, and three virtual brands, Panini Italiani, Pizza Bar, and Pasta Bar, within the group.
Launched in early July 2021, Da Paolo Gastronomia Great World is designed to be a one - stop destination. Its aesthetics evoke Tuscany, the region that is the archetypal image of Italy with its lyrical rolling landscape, divine art and architecture, exquisite wines, and delectable cuisine.
Retail Section
Modelled after a European marketplace, is a trove of Italian favourites waiting to be savoured. Till this day, Gastronomia draws from the family’s decades of operating restaurants and personal connections with Italian producers and artisans nurtured through the years, some spanning generations.
Stock upon Da Paolo’s preservative - free products made from scratch includinghandmade pastas, fresh pasta sauces, meal prep essentials and ready meals. Discover boutique and artisanal brands from Italy and other parts of Europe that the family has fallen in love with. In this personally sourced and curated selection, there is a strong celebration of artisanship, characterised by traditional methods and foods that are handcrafted.
Large Dining Area
New to the Gastronomia experience at Great World is a larger dining area ideal for the everyday, or for special occasions. Families can settle into an idyllic spot in the light-filled courtyard or charming piazza - inspired area under an olive tree just like in Tuscany.
For the very first time, the honest, authentic Italian offerings are met by dishes from its popular virtual concepts, in a variety of menus curated for day, evening and weekends. In addition to simple, comforting breakfast and pasta options, there are now the Panini Italiani range assembled with house - baked focaccia, and gastronomic pastas in tantalising flavour combinations.
The Pizza Bar features a live pizza station where hand-stretched and stone-baked Roman thin crust pizzas are freshly made. There is also a gelato counter with house-churned gelato made in collaboration with Chocolat Milano, a 60-year - old artisanal Italian gelato brand, as well as an Aperitivo bar with Happy Hour specials for daytime imbibing as the locals do on a beautiful summer day in Tuscany.
Why Is It Family Friendly?
We like that it has a gelato counter, and the live pizza station provides the kids with a view of the chefs in action. The larger dining area is also much welcomed, especially for those with strollers or babies too.
Finally the retail section allows families to do some shopping / be entertained while waiting for their food.
