Popular Italian food concept Casa Vostra Opens in Raffles City

Locando - New Trattoria Concept by Michelin-starred Buona Terra

Locanda, a lively casual concept by 1-Michelin-starred Buona Terra, opens at 109 Rowell Road, in the colourful heritage district of Little India.

The new restaurant charms with a home-like warmth. Traditionally a welcoming place of respite in the countryside of Italy, locandas are where weary travellers are refuelled with simple and hearty Italian classics before continuing their journey. With a sense of place and intimacy, these inns are loved for their delivery of generosity and passion characteristic of Italian hospitality.

Unwind within a cosy Italian trattoria-style space over quality wines and comforting Italian fare, carefully crafted by Buona Terra’s Italian Resident Chef Denis Lucchi. He is supported by an experienced team, including long-serving team members from the fine dining restaurant who now helm Locanda. Together, they apply their wealth of culinary experience and deep knowledge of the flavours of Italy in every dish served at Locanda.

Angie’s Oyster Bar & Grill - A Newly Revamped Space

Angie’s Oyster Bar & Grill, located in a tucked-away enclave within the industrial compound Tan Boon Liat Building, has been a beacon of top-notch seafood and grilled specialities, beckoning diners with its relaxed-chic vibes, since 2021.

hayop - The First Overseas Venture for the Manam Group from the Philippines

Located in the vibrant Amoy Street neighbourhood, hayop is the fine casual offshoot of Manam – and a much-anticipated addition to our city’s dining scene. Aside from creating nostalgia for fellow Filipinos living abroad, hayop advocates for Filipino cuisine beyond its home country. 

Loosely translated from the vernacular, hayop means “beast” – a hyperbolic compliment for something that is truly amazing. It is a name that resonates with the extravagantly wonderful tapestry of cultures that make up the Philippines.

Deeply inspired by Manam, hayop serves classic and reinventive takes on familiar Filipino comfort food through a contemporary lens. The Wagyu Bak Kut Teh ($35++) reimagines the iconic pork rib soup with succulent Kagoshima Wagyu rib fingers, taupok (bean curd puffs) and bean curd in a fragrant broth infused with spices such as garlic, cloves, cinnamon, and star anise.

Another twist on a local delight is the Wagyu Otak Katsu Sando ($32++), combining minced Kagoshima Wagyu with deliciously savoury, spicy fish paste in a golden-brown juicy cutlet. The cutlet is nestled between slices of toasted Japanese shokupan, complemented by fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, creamy scrambled eggs, and a dash of house-made barbecue sauce and honey mustard.

Bedrock Bar & Grill’s World Meat Series is a signature showcase spotlighting premium and lesser-known meats from around the world. The 2024 series returns for its third and last edition of the year from 14 August to 31 October 2024, presenting Sir Harry Wagyu by Elbow Valley Beef from the lands of Canning Downs South, Queensland, Australia. 

Celebrated for its exceptional marbling, melt-in-the-mouth texture, and uniquely subtle citrus notes attributed to its feed, the beef is prepared using primal cooking techniques to best enjoy its natural characteristics whilst staying true to Bedrock’s philosophy of keeping things classic. Highlights of the 5-course meal ($138++ per pax) include:
