Known as the ‘Festival of Lights’, Deepavali is a celebration of the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. This year, the Indian Heritage Centre’s (IHC) Deepavali Open House welcomes everyone to celebrate the joyous occasion with an exciting array of programmes.
Take The Deepavali Big Bus Tour To Enjoy The Street Light-up

For the first time, visitors can try out this novel way to see the Little India Deepavali Street light-up and decorations, on a special open-top bus tour. The tour provides the perfect introduction to the Little India precinct during the festive season and excellent photo opportunities from the top deck.

This popular activity is back! Often sold out within hours, families who manage to snag tickets will get to enjoy the Deepavali festive mood with the Indian Heritage Centre’s Trishaw Trails on Friday evenings! Sit back, relax, and enjoy a 15-min trishaw ride that will let you take in the sights, sounds, and festivities of Little India as the precinct ushers in the Festival of Lights!

Another crowd favourite, a miniature replica of the Little India Deepavali street light-up arch along Campbell Lane beckons the public to join in the festivities at IHC. Featuring oil lamp and peacock designs, this light installation serves as a warm greeting and is also the perfect backdrop to take a Deepavali family photo!

Contribute To The Community LEGO Mural

Families can contribute to a rangoli-inspired LEGO mural shaped by filling in coloured LEGO bricks to the white outline of the design. Simply collect your LEGO bricks from the IHC frontdesk and fill up the mural with the right colours!
Join An Interactive Storytelling Sessions For Kids

Get your little ones immersed in the traditions and values of Deepavali through this interactive storytelling session by AKT Creations. The great pairing of musical performances and fun craft sessions will be an entertaining activity to engage kids in the Deepavali festivities.
Take Part in FREE Drop-In Activities

The young and the young-at-heart can try their hand at various drop-in activities at the IHC Lobby, including the decoration of oil lamps and the making of Ramayana shadow puppets that narrate the story of Deepavali.
