Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a time of joy, togetherness, and reflection, and there’s no better place to experience the festive spirit than at Changi Airport! From now until 18 April, marvel at vibrant horticultural displays and cultural decorations across all four terminals, bringing the warmth of Malay heritage to life.

Discover Stunning Festive Decorations

Step into a world of tradition and artistry as Changi Airport decorated its halls with 15 beautifully curated displays in both public and transit areas. This year, Terminal 2 shines with intricate batik-motif winnowers and wedding umbrellas, both rich in cultural significance.

The winnowers, traditionally used for rice processing, pay tribute to the region’s deep agricultural roots, while the wedding umbrellas—used in Malay wedding ceremonies—add a touch of elegance and symbolism to the celebration.

One of the highlights you won’t want to miss is Changi’s Tree of Life at T2 Departure South. This breathtaking golden tree, adorned with glowing lights, represents goodwill and unity, mirroring the values of Hari Raya. Upcycled from Changi’s Annual Airport Celebration, the Tree of Life embodies sustainability while celebrating the festival’s message of harmony and friendship.

As you explore the festive displays, you’ll come across a towering 2.4-metre-tall Ketupat structure, a beloved symbol of Hari Raya that represents togetherness and gratitude. The scene is further enhanced with lanterns and traditional Malay kite sculptures, bringing a touch of cultural heritage to the celebration.

To promote sustainability, many of the decorations have been recycled from last year and thoughtfully arranged in new locations, offering a fresh and visually captivating experience.

Experience the Beauty of Nature

Changi Airport’s exquisite floral displays bring a touch of nature’s brilliance to the festivities. The gardens feature Dancing-Lady orchids, a bright yellow flower symbolizing prosperity, renewal, and unity—the perfect theme for Hari Raya!

Other carefully selected plants include coconut palms and pandan plants, both essential to Southeast Asian cuisine. These ingredients play a key role in beloved Hari Raya treats such as Ketupat (rice cakes), Rendang (meat stew) and a variety of Malay kuehs (cakes, cookies and other confectionery).
