Clean Up, Or Else!
While chores are not typically a child’s go-to version of ‘play’ or associated with fun times, The Artground (TAG) has collaborated with The Cminors to create Clean Up, Or Else! - an environment designed to make doing chores fun and meaningful, and even take the children on a literary wordplay spin-around!
In this latest arts installation, household chores balloon to enormous proportions to encourage active exploration and literary fun through poems and play to bring home the messages of shared responsibilities and of building good habits.
This playful idea is BIG on imagination and builds upon supersizing poems and ‘playing house’ to encourage family conversation around the values of kindness, helpfulness and responsibility over personal and shared spaces at home.
An Art Space by Children for Children
The Artground is a registered arts charity dedicated to children from birth to 9 years old and aims to provide positive arts experiences across a variety of art forms, and build bridges between artists, educators, parents and children from various communities. For this installation, TAG has collaborated with CMinors, an arts collective by three sisters (8, 10 and 12 years old) who dream of creating an epic mess and playing in it, and with their mummy Yi Lin.
Clean Up, Or Else! is truly an arts space imagined and designed by children for children!
Ticketing Details & Types
New tickets published every Tuesday between 12 to 2pm, for the following week. All visitors must have a valid ticket for entry. Babies in arms will be counted as 1 pax.
Explore Tickets
Explore tickets allow you to access TAG's new arts space exhibition within specific time slots on weekdays and weekends. To do so, you need to pre-book a group ticket (admits up to 5 pax) for a refundable deposit of $15.
Programme + Explore Tickets
Programme + Explore tickets allow you to purchase tickets for an age-specific programme in TAG's WhiteBox, with access to explore the arts space 45 minutes before the programme start time (tickets are only available for 2 to 4 pax). All programmes are parent-accompanied unless mentioned otherwise. Tickets are strictly non-refundable. Available only on weekends and selected Fridays and Public Holidays.
Dates and Session Timings
Clean Up, or Else! runs from 15 Apr 2023 to 25 Feb 2024, Wed to Sun. There are 4 sessions to choose from each day.
- Session 1: 9.15am to 10.30am
- Session 2: 10.45am to 12pm
- Session 3: 2pm to 3.15pm
- Session 4: 3.45pm to 5pm
More Details
- All children must be parent/carer accompanied and be adequately supervised by an adult when they explore the arts space.
- Each group will be given unique coloured TAG snap bands to wear.
- Non-slip grip socks are mandatory for everyone (except pre-walking babies).
- Socks will be available for sale $3/pair for those who do not have them.
- The centre will be closed for intervals between the sessions for cleaning and sanitisation.
