Mirror Mirror isn't your typical museum visit. This interactive exhibition invites you to step into a vibrant world of illusions, colours, and captivating installations. With eight themed rooms, each designed to spark creativity and engagement.
It invites families to step into the playful installations and experience how the brain constructs reality and to explore how the different facets of our inner worlds are shaped - from perception and memory to consciousness.

Beyond that, it is an interactive space where your presence triggers the art around you, where your movements shape the visuals. As a free to explore area, what you do and how you choose to explore the space becomes a personalised adventure where you and your family become part of the art itself!
A Multi-Sensory Adventure for the Whole Family
Mirror Mirror celebrates creativity and participation. From its visually stunning installations to its thought-provoking themes, every aspect of this experience is designed to leave a lasting impression.
The 8 rooms that you can explore are
- Doorways - be greeted by 3 large doors, each leading to a different part of the exhibition. All paths will eventually converge in the exhibition, giving you the opportunity to explore all eight rooms, regardless of your initial choice. You may not realise but as you stand there making your choices, your brain rapidly processes sensory information, memories and even emotions, as it guides you in making a selection.

- Memory Storage - you could sit here and watch the flashing lights or you can share a memory through Mirror Mirror’s web app. Watch as your memories, and those of others, flow through the scaffolding structures within this space.
- Open Window - This installation uses AI to create an endless stream of poems and images. Come share a memory and activate your creativity by using Moment Factory’s web app.
- Brainstorm - In this space, you are invited to pick up a ball and throw it at the screen. Through collaborative efforts with those around you, this collective activity can lead to new and innovative creations, the result of a diversity of human thinking and creativity. The exhibition tries to show that during social interaction, our brain activities tend to align, suggesting that our brains are processing information in a coordinated manner.

- Forest of Echoes - Probably the prettiest place for pictures. Wander through a forest of mirrored pillars, lasers and haze without a destination in mind. Allow yourself to become lost, reflect as you look into the mirrors and take a moment to rediscover yourself in the process.

- Moodscape - A really cool space to spend some time in, but to be careful if you are bringing younger children as visibility is low. Make your way into the centre of the space. Lay back in a chair, or rest against the wall, as you take time to relax and consider on your emotional state at this exact moment. The room uses red, blue and yellow lights to evoke specific emotional responses.

- Mirrors of Tomorrow - Using interactive projections that resemble ‘magic mirrors’, you are invited to strike a pose and then choose from a series of symbols projected onto the mirror in front of you.

- Grey Matter - Developed by ArtScience Museum in collaboration with scientists from The Society for Neuroscience Singapore Chapter (SfN.SG), this room speaks about the working of the mind and attempts to make the invisible, visible.
So, if you are looking for a fun and engaging activity to enjoy together, Mirror Mirror might just be the experience for your family!
