Prawning @ ORTO

Opening Hour: 24hrs Daily
Pricing: 1hr ($20), 2hrs ($30), 3hrs ($36), 10hrs ($108)

One of the largest prawning facility in Singapore, Prawning at ORTO is open 24 hours daily with 10 ponds for you to enjoy the experience of catching your own seafood! Do note that not all ponds are open at the same time and you will be assigned to a pond when you arrive.

Families with little or no experiences, and are looking for a family fun time will be glad to know that rods and baits are provided, so you can just come without any equipment. For those with your own rods, you are also welcome to use them too. Pricing is by per rod per hour. For those with younger kids, we suggest sharing a rod as they may not have the patience to hang around for the entirety of the session.

To add to the excitement, selected prawns will be tagged and lucky customers will be entitled to a free spin for a chance to win attractive cash and prizes too! There will also be an electric grill* within the venue for you to grill your catches too!

*Note that the electric grill may be unavailable due to COVID measures. We understand that a plastic bag is provided for you to bring back your catches if it is not available.

Longkang Fishing @ ORTO

Video from our visit in 2017, do note that some information in the video may not be up-to-date.

Opening Hours: 10 am - 8 pm (Sat, Sun and PH), check Facebook for School Holidays opening hours.
Pricing: $12 nett per child

We first visited the Longkang Fishing at ORTO in 2017. A popular past-time for children in the 60s, this nostalgic experience will surely get the kids excited as they go into the waters to try catch as many fishes as possible.

You don't have to bring any equipment as the $12 fee per child includes a net and tank. You can bring home the fishes (guppies) caught in the tank provided (nets are to be returned).

The pond is non-slip and ranges in depths of 10cm to 30cm to cater to kids of different ages and height. From our experience, we suggest this activity for kids from 3 years old. Parents can assist and help their kids but are not allowed into the pond or to actively catch the fishes.

And if the kids get too dirty or wet, there are toilets nearby for them to wash-up and get changed too. If you are thinking of keeping the fishes as pets, do note that they cannot survive in tap water (due to the chlorine) and you will either need a dechlorinator or to leave the water out for at least 48 hours.
